Kevin Spacey Is Now Out As A Gay Men & Sexual Predator

“But if I did behave then as he [Anthony Rapp] describes, I owe him the sincerest apology for what would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behavior.” ~Kevin Spacey

Actually, Kevin, your lack of denial says a lot. You owe Anthony Rapp more than an apology.

You owe us an apology. You owe Anthony his adolescence back. And you can repay neither.

Anthony Rapp of “Rent” fame is also about to fill the big screen in Star Trek’s first gay story-line. He has been a working actor since he was 9 years old. Buzzfeed details the story of what happened five years after that.

“1986, Spacey befriended Rapp while they both performed on Broadway shows, invited Rapp over to his apartment for a party, and, at the end of the night, picked Rapp up, placed him on his bed, and climbed on top of him, making a sexual advance. According to public records, Spacey was 26. Rapp was 14.

“However after this story was published, Spacey posted on Twitter that he did not remember the encounter with Rapp.” And he finally acknowledged he’s gay.

As LGBTQnation points out, “Rapp, on the other hand, has been out since 1992, years before Ellen Degeneres came out and subsequently lost her sitcom. Spacey has been facing rumors but in 2007, he told Gotham magazine that he didn’t want to discuss his “private” life. “I’ve just never believed in pimping my personal life out for publicity.”

Both articles are well written and worth your time. But be prepared to be a little nauseous afterward.

It’s beyond “not normal” for a 26-year-old to be “partying” with a 14-year-old if the decorations don’t include children’s games and a cartoon cake. Alcohol is may be a fact of the situation but never factors in as an excuse.

Had Kevin had the fortitude and insight to use his near-universal acclaim for his role in “House of Cards” as a platform with a wide reach for coming out, it could have done our community a lot of good. A lot. Now, he just reinforces some of the worst many have always had of us because in this case, it appears to be true.

“While Rapp is ready, even eager, to speak out and help effect change within his industry, he remains deeply conflicted about what it might mean to speak to the man who was supposed to be his peer and, instead, violated him.”

And Dan Savage is in very good company in the celebrity backlash onslaught.

And this house of cards has collapsed in the saddest way. Hopefully, Anthony will embolden other actors and people of all walks of life to come forward and name names. And just maybe an actor or two will open their closet doors for the right reasons.

  1. ” ,,,in my life I have had relationships with both men and WOMEN …” Lol. Women … Sure …, but who else are you trying to fool, doll ?

  2. for many years people wondered when kevin was going to break down his closet door and his show biz friends kept quiet for him .,,,,, i like what wanda sykes said .,,, she said no no no ,, you don’t get to hide behind the rainbow .,,,,, at the same time i don’t think much of anthony’s parents letting their 14 year old party with with the adults instead of ,, do the show and go home .
