due to the faltering market for their under-21, spoof-porn wares.

As porn industry trade mag XBIZ reports, PZP is halting production of new films this year and focusing only on releasing a director’s cut special edition of ‘Oliver Twink,’ and ‘Twinks Finally 18 #1’ which sounds like its meant to be a series, but just might not be.

PZP head Peter Z. Pan (not his real name) discussed how the economy was hurting everyone, industry-wide, but also pointed to illegal tube sites stealing their content as culprits in their financial woes:

Most tube sites are great, and they’re a way to market your movies. As for the others: What’s the good of opening up the store if they give your goods away? Why would people want to buy one of our DVDs when they can just download it for free from one of these sites?

We suspect another factor in PZP’s choice in taking 2009 off: They’ve run out of spoof-worthy Hollywood titles to fit the word “twink” into.  ‘The Watchtwinks’ just doesn’t have the same ring to it as, say ‘Betwinked‘–and we’ve got to say that ‘Slumtwink Millionaire’ would only probably appeal to a niche market.

In any event, we expect to see Peter at the GayVN Awards in March to vie for the award for Best Sex Comedy for ‘The Twink Whisperer.’  Best of luck, Pete.
