Since the early zeroes, Gang Gang Dance has consistently shunted convention for the sake of doing things their way, fusing top 40 hip hop production influence with Bollywood, post-punk, and a disarmingly charismatic frontwoman with Kate Bush-y lungs, and often performing in museums and western European punk bars alike. After turning out a raucous performance at The Whitney Museum, GGD made their summer mark curating the east coast performance of 88Boadrum in Williamsburg. This isn’t folksy experimental bullshit, it’s a wake-up call. Art is easy, just like you. Now get into the groove.
