“There’s part of me that loves to be the headline,” he tells New Yorker
writer Ariel Levy, and we’re happy to help him out. “I’m going to get a
‘shameless’ tattoo next,”he says. “That’s what I think everyone should
aspire to in life: being shameless.”
We’d prefer he get “not annoying,” but it might interfere with his self-actualization. Writes Levy:
Jacob’s
physical appearance has come to reflect his success. At the age of
forty-five, he looks like a cartoon superhero: muscular,
bronzed, shining with diamonds. He has twenty-eight tattoos, and, until
recently, he had a boyfriend named Jason Preston, seventeen years his
junior, who was a retired prostitute … He smokes Marlboro lights
and talks about working out at the gym, his favorite place lately. He
is well aware that he has shapeshifted from a withdrawn schlump into
something…special.
Exactly. Is it too late to get the withdrawn schlump back?
