A few summers ago, James shoved anal beads up his ass in a You Love Jack scene and got tag-teamed for GearAction.com. These days he’s studying “convex polytopes” and “dynamical systems” and planning a future in mathematical academia, but I’m glad he took a moment to answer some wide-eyed questions from the cerebral Reddit community.

James White: This shoot was my favorite. As you can tell if you clicked the link, it was a threeway, and both of the other guys were cute. I ended up getting double teamed, which has always been a fantasy of mine. The premise was rather ridiculous, though: I was a masseuse, and those two were hockey players (though you’ll note the site changed that to football players). It was at least one of their’s first shoot, and for some reason none of us ever initiated dialogue, so the only conversing going on was me moanologuing. It was a ton of fun, we did a train, I got Eiffel towered, and it ended with bukkake.

Reddit: Were you gay beforehand or just for the money?

JW: I’m really gay. I did do a straight-for-pay scene, though, that was hilarious… Both me and the other guy really were gay, so we had to pretend to be straight pretending to be gay! That shoot really was a comedy of errors, I don’t think it ended up getting used. The girl was a half hour late because she was really drunk the night before and her friends decided it would be a good idea to draw on her in sharpie so she had to spend a million years in the shower scrubbing it off.

We started filming without me realizing it, so when the director asked me “what’s the first thing you notice about a girl?” I didn’t have anything in mind so I said “Uhh… what she’s wearing?”

The other guy had trouble staying hard while he was sexing her doggy style while she was sucking my dick, so she said “just imagine I’m some cute boy!” and all three of us burst into laughter. Later when it was my turn to put it in her poon I was also semi-flaccid and I bent my dick, which hurts like hell if you’ve never done it. She was really amazing at sucking dick, though. That’s something I’ve been surprised to learn: guys are not better at sucking dick than girls. Or maybe the ones I’ve been with are just really experienced, I dunno.

What is the hardest part of being a male porn actor?

JW: Nerves. If you get nervous your dick goes soft and then everyone gets impatient while you try to get hard again, which makes you more nervous, which makes it harder to get hard, and it’s a terrible loop of terrible. Fortunately for me I bottomed most of the time, so it didn’t matter!

Good money? Was protection used?

JW: $250-400 per shoot. For an hour or two’s work I’d say that’s good money. When I was first signing up with BluMedia Studios I filled out a questionnaire. One of the questions was “Will you bareback?” and I checked no. When the director read that part he said “Good for you!”

Do your friends know?

JW: Yes, and so do my parents. My mom grudgingly accepts it and my dad thinks it’s awesome.

Didn’t you find it at all humiliating?

JW: I found some parts humiliating, like when I had trouble staying hard once. Some parts were annoying, like when I had a scene with a guy who smoked like a chimney and his dick tasted like an ashtray. He was by far the grossest person I’ve had sex with. Slightly chubby, sweaty before we started, smelled… yuck. We did mutual oral, no anal. It was slightly degrading. It was also the second time I’d done a shoot, if it was the first I’m not sure if I’d have gone back. I was mainly thinking how much I wanted it to be over.
