Men’s Rights Activist Logan McCree Running for Office on Anti-Porn Platform

He’s back! (Yay?) Former GayVN Performer of the Year and Raging Stallion standout Logan McCree is running for office in the Scottish Parliament as a Scottish Family Party candidate—and he wants to take away your porn.

McCree, aka Philipp Tanzer, is one of the party’s regional candidates for the Highlands & Islands (the election takes place May 6th). You may recall some of the former porn star’s recent headline-making appearances on The Sword, like when he expressed his admiration for Donald Trump (on a Twitter account that has since been suspended); and when he was featured in a BBC documentary about men’s rights (say what?), following him at the International Conference on Men’s Issues—a summit attended by members of the “manosphere.” (We’re not making this up…you can still watch it here).

Now, he’s trying to champion the need for men’s rights in actual political office, as first reported by the Daily Mail this week. As Logan McCree, the performer entered the gay adult industry in 2007, and was best known for his successful stint at Raging Stallion. He won three awards at the 2009 GayVN Awards, including Performer of the Year, before leaving the industry in 2011—when the tatted German moved to Scotland, where he is now in a relationship with a woman.

One of his main platforms for office is warning of the ill-effects of pornography: “I had a negative view of the pornographic industry even before I joined it, but I needed the money,” he tells the Daily Mail. “In one year I lost five friends in the industry to suicide and drug overdoses. I have seen the harm porn addiction can do. Not all my experiences with it have been negative though – I met some wonderful people. One of the main reasons to run for the Scottish Family Party has been my experience and helping people learn from it.”

He continues to tell the Daily Mail: “Porn is not a men’s problem. Both boys and girls consume pornography and both suffer under its impact…When I was younger I was not clear what path I would take. I was pushed into identifying myself as something at the age of 32 that I was not.”

Tanzier says that The Scottish Family Party best represents his views on life and society. The Party lists some of its causes as opposing abortion; protecting children “from vulgar and corrupting sex education”; promoting heterosexual parenting (“children should be brought up by a mum and a dad, providing a male and female role model and complementary qualities”); opposing “Transgender Ideology, especially the confusing of children” (“Teaching children that they can choose their gender is extremely harmful”).

But at least they support gender equality! Oh wait…in reverse, because it’s men who have it so bad:

“Feminists in the past fought some grave injustices in the UK, as they do in many other countries today,” states its Manifesto. “Compared to women, men tend to work longer hours, are more willing to sacrifice job security for career advancement, do more dangerous jobs, and take fewer career breaks. Women often want to devote themselves more to family life. The ‘Gender Pay Gap’ is by and large a reflection of the natural differences between men and women, and no government action is required to address it.”
