Now Men.com Is Ripping Off ‘Gay of Thrones,’ the Comedy Series on Funny Or Die

Men.com is doing a porn parody of Game of Thrones, and they’re calling it Gay of Thrones, which also happens to be the name of a popular web series that’s been airing on Funny or Die featuring hair stylist Jonathan Van Ness as well as comic folks Margaret Cho, Jeffery Self, and Lucy Davis. Is somebody going to sue Men.com??

The SoCal-based porn studio released a teaser today featuring Dato Foland, showing that he’ll be playing the lead, or something. Will there be a midget involved? Will there be dragons?

Has anyone at Men.com been on the internet lately to see that the original Gay of Thrones has been featured everywhere from New York Magazine to NBC. Also, the series is so popular that author George R.R. made a cameo in this week’s season finale episode. (See below.)

In fact, it’s awesome, and it’s everywhere today, because basically there’s a Princess Bride-inspired moment near the end where a grandson asks his grandfather, who’s reading him the story, what is up with the gay kissing, and Martin says, “Well, I didn’t realize my grandson was homophobic.”

So anyway, Men.com may want to rethink using that title. Since it’s already taken.

  1. To be fair, “Gay of Thrones” is hardly such sparkling wordplay that Men.com couldn’t have come up with it on their own.
