A Very Gay President’s Day. Thanks, Obama.

No one speaks to what exactly our President feels about the LGBTQ community better than he does. Especially this weekend.

It’s one of the things [gay rights] I’m proudest of, because my whole political career has been based on the idea that we constantly want to include people and not exclude them. How do we bring more and more people into opportunity and success and feeling hopeful about their lives? ~President Barak Obama

The realities of Election 2016 have showcased the inability of the chattering classes to interpret the current political tea leaves with any accuracy. When it comes to the current President and his administration, no such interpretation is required. President Obama makes his feelings known very precisely. He did so all weekend.

It started Friday when he moved me Ellen to tears …

And continued right through to Valentine’s Day …

The President calls marriage equality plantiff Jim Obergefell on live TV after the SCOTUS decision.
After seven years of avarice obstructionism at every turn, the President is not leaving us behind as he spends his final 399 days in office. This includes not just marriage equality and LGBTQ rights, but reproductive choice, access to health care, and the voice of the people over the influence of the few.

The most important stop on his victory lap may just be replacing the late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia to ensure as a country, we don’t move backwards. All elections have consequences. This one more than most.

The celebratory mood of this President’s Day is not just a nod to history. But to the man who has been occupying the Oval Office since January 20, 2009.

#LoveIsLove.

Just ask the President.

And now, back to our regularly scheduled pornography. For a first stop, may I suggest Valentine’s Day Vote: Who’s the Hottest Ginger in Gay Porn?

  1. Barack Obama has done so much to lift up the lgbt community and to advance the cause of total equality for LGBT people. His words and actions are even more impressive when you look at the Republican Party which is trashing LGBT people in order to win over that party’s fundamentalist and right wing base.

    1. And such a young man still. Look at what Jimmy Carter did when he left office. I’m excited to see what the post-presidential portion of his life will be.
