Playgirl To Close Print Operations and Save Paper for Tissues

IN-PlaygirlCover-Madison.jpg Venerable nudie magazine Playgirl is closing its print operations and focusing on the web. According to a release:

No, You’re Thinking of the Horse-hung Sex God, Not Me

IN-JeffStrkerGoldTH.jpg Porn stars are a small handful of people in the world who have the luxury of choosing their own names. One would think that they’d not only choose names that are sexy and easy to remember, but also check Google beforehand. In many cases the names they choose are already in use. Take the real Jeff Stryker: in a piece he wrote for Salon,  the former executive director of the federal National Commission on AIDS, is positively indignant about having his identity usurped.

They Can Treat That Right?: The 2008 Grabby-IML Weekend In Review

IN-GrabbyRoundupTH2.JPG Forty-eight hours later we’re still unsure whether we should report some of this past weekend to the police, but one thing is for sure: the 2008 Grabbys were a rollicking good time without the pressure or the pomp of the GayVNs. Maybe it was the table service or maybe it was that it’s hard to get too worked up about not winning “Hottest Bottom.” Either way, if that’s an award show, we’ll have a double.

After the jump, some of our favorite off-stage moments.

Sex, Drag and Rockin’ Holes: The 2008 Grabby Award Winners

jake-crop.jpg We’re confused as to what day it is, and where this inflatable sheep came from, but the 2008 Grabby Awards are over and all for the better. We’re not that young anymore and the penicillin isn’t as effective as it used to be. So while we sober up and try to find our underwear, here’s a quick look at the winners of the 2008 Grabbys.

San Francisco To Get Gay Porn on Cable

MM-PlaygirlTVComcast.jpg

Gay porn is big business on the internet, but San Francisco will soon break new ground by offering gay porn on it’s cable system. Transdigital Media, publisher of Playgirl magazine, is programming a test channel in association with Comcast Cable offering up pay-per-view porn on the network in the Bay Area, and several other test markets including Chicago, Minneapolis and areas of Texas. The video-on-demand channel is part of a larger initiative by Comcast to provide both straight and gay markets with adult content.

Placing Odds on Which British Royal Is at Center of Gay Sex Blackmail Trial

HN-PrinceEdwardGayBlackmail.jpg

The UK Telegraph, that venerable tabloid of the English-accented web, is reporting on the trial of two men nabbed by Scotland Yard for blackmailing an unidentified married British royal who allegedly was seen snorting cocaine and performing oral sex on another man. The trial is ongoing and the tabloid press has been loving the details, like when a senior royal aide (known as Witness D and alleged to be the receiver of said sex

Busloads of Trannies and Gays to Descend on Atlantic City

IN-NardicioRoadTripTH.jpg

With the Black Party over (and no report of any of last year’s “dance-floor incidents“), the aging club kids, rag-tag homosexuals and assorted drunks can look forward to a new event this May: New York promoter and DList.com co-founder Daniel Nardicio has just announced his “Great Atlantic City Road Trip,” which will be on Sunday May 11th.  It may not be the White Party (thank god), but then again it doesn’t cost four hundred bucks.

Gay Porn Midterms: The Answers

IN-PornQuizTH.jpg Um, hi. PERVERTED MUCH?

We were a little overwhelmed with the number of correct answers we got and are still sorting out the winners (a preliminary congrats to “Arch” and “Dave,” but generally an impressive turn-out, folks. To those of you who did a ton of research, impressive work. To those who were able to answer these without cheating: what’s your excuse?

Soon They Will Be Dead: The William F. Buckley Jr. Memorial List of Conservatives We’re Still Waiting on to Die

HN-WilliamFBuckleyDeadTH.jpg

He once had a war of words with Gore Vidal (whom he addressed as “you queer” after Vidal called him a “pro-war-crypto-Nazi”) and he made such condescending remarks about gay rights as, “A homosexual has a right not to get hit by a truck.”  Yes, William F. Buckley Jr., that great charmer of men and founder of conservative soapbox The National Review, is finally dead.  After graduating Yale in 1950, Buckley rose to right-wing fame after penning the book God and Man at Yale, in which he went after the growing threat of “liberal professors” who were forcing their heathen views on unsuspecting students.  He may be responsible, in fact, for popularizing the term “liberal professor” and for turning the American Right into a bunch of anti-intellectual, academia-hating Texans.  More recently he has weighed in on the illogic of the Episcopal Church in trying to canonize homosexuals and spoken in support of a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage.  He leaves a great legacy of tight-assed stubbornness behind him, and his influence will probably still be felt for years to come.

Candidates to Gays: Drop Wed!

Candidates_headGraphic.jpg

The presidential candidates are madly on the stump for the next few weeks, and in getting a little service-y for you, our homo readership, we at The Sword decided to sum up what these nine presidential hopefuls have to say on gay marriage, and gay rights in general.  Since Karl Rove isn’t involved this time, the homosexual agenda has not exactly been a front-and-center issue lately-but just you wait!  Expect all of them to throw us under the bus any day now, with the possible exception of drag queens Hedda Lettuce and Rudy Giuliani (who, in fact, lived with some gays after his last divorce and has donned ladies’ attire more than once in the last decade).  A few brief quotes, after the jump.
