Persian Reality Show Star Talks About Being Persian, Gay

Truly fascinating on many levels. A complex man for the complex times we are living in. You can thank producer Ryan Seacrest for bringing this person and his show, Shahs of Sunset, to Bravo. We need more people like this on TV.

We need more people like this in the world, in general, to talk about mustaches, money, “serious family connections,” being gay, having haters, having money, being famous, their mother’s money, their physical appearance, their money, what it’s like to be on television, and anything they want to talk about, really. Whatever they want to say and do should be on television.

I haven’t seen this television show yet because I didn’t watch it, but I can tell from the previews that it is a television show that is worthy of being on television.

      1. I think his name was ALi , or Aldi :) He also made a scene on Thughunter ( don’t start me on this one lol, most of their “thugs” seem to come straight out of a Rupaul Drag Race casting)

        1. Oh they certainly do. Nothing thug about them. Robert Axel isn’t drag queen gay but it was still hilarious when he had to play the thug part since he is in no way close to one lol

  1. When someone says “Iran” and “gay” to me, I think of that picture of the two teenagers who were hanged because they were gay (or it was suspected they were). I haven’t watched the clips, but I’m guessing these people are exiled Persian royalty(?). This guy should really be doing something to advocate for gays in his homeland… or something worthwhile.

  2. I decided to give Shah’s of Sunset a try last night. They make the Housewives look like angels. They’re all so fucking superficial….enough said. There wasn’t a single point made in the entire hour beyond what they drive, where they shop, who they wear, what they date, the $$ their families expect them to earn. Ryan Seacrest should have his producer’s title taken away. He’s responsible for the Khardashian crap, and now this…oh wait, aren’t the Khardashian’s Persian also? Figures.

    1. ABSOLUTELY agree. Decided to give it a shot and couldn’t get past 5 minutes. It was nothing but talking about how “wealthy” and “good looking” they felt they were. Ryan Seacrest+ Bravo = douche bag overload. Hopefully this show will get canned after 5 episodes like that other terrible show “miami social”

  3. I like Wendy Williams especially her accent. Wonder why there aren’t more Wendy Williams female impersonators.

    1. One of the queens on RuPaul’s Drag Race tried to do a Wendy Williams impersonation. He didn’t look masculine enough to match the original.

  4. What a terrible shame to have to leave all of your wealth and come to the US as refugees, only to live in such a horrible neighborhood as Beverly Hills. By the looks of it they didn’t sacrifice shit.

I definitely would rather do his younger brother. That stache is terrible and he looked way better in that photo he took with his mom.

Also I was told by a few of them is that it looks and sounds better to Americans when you tell them you’re Persian rather than tell them you’re Iranian. There’s a lot of people here who don’t have much knowledge on that whole geographical area, so it’s easy to get away with it. And technically it’s not a lie.

  5. You can trust Reality TV to make any interesting topic into some tacky drama bar brawl fest (… or is it the other way round?).

  6. They should have stayed in Iran.
I believe all the ostentation here exemplifies how the West glorifies trash(albeit wrapped in gold,it’s still trash).
Also why do they say Persian and not iranian? I’m Mesopotamian …o_O

      1. I was being sarcastic. Mesopotamia was seating on several countries(including Iraq) however just like Persia , it doesn’t exist anymore so there is not point saying you’re “Persian”. It doesn’t make sense, especially considering how much the borders of the Persian Empire have moved throughout history.
Iran has been called this way since 1935? They fleed the country around 1979 (Islamic revolution) . They probably want to seem exotic or something…Idiots.

I’m not sure about that. We’ll see how far this show gets. I have my doubts that it will appeal to many people.

Besides, you can’t take reality TV too seriously. It’s like monkeys in a zoo. Fun to watch, but you don’t want to jump in.
