Porn Stars vs. Porn Wikileaks

Are you a porn star who’s been outed by the pathetic (yet dangerous!) clowns at Porn Wikileaks? The Free Speech Coalition is here to help.

A press release from the FSC:

Free Speech Coalition (FSC) today announced it is looking into legal options available for performers affected by the PornWikileaks.com website. The site has exposed the personal information of thousands of purported performers and gained international media attention after being exposed on industry gossip blogs and message boards.

“Free Speech Coalition stands in opposition to the violations of performer privacy by PornWikileaks,” said Diane Duke FSC Executive Director. “This is not an issue of free speech; it is about violating the privacy of performers. It’s about potential extortion and exposing performers to potential harassment, stalking and other criminal activities.”

To date, it is unclear where the data displayed on PornWikileaks originated but federal authorities are currently investigating breaches of federal law in the accumulation of data that has been exposed on the website. In addition to concerns regarding illegal access of medical databases, there are grave concerns about misuse of 2257 documents.

“Anonymity is an important part of controversial speech, as the courts have recognized for more than half a century. Publicly posting the sort of information involved here has an obvious chilling effect on performers and exposes them to known dangers which are extremely serious,” said attorney Reed Lee, FSC Board member and Government & Legal Committee Chair. “Would the website operators have published the NAACP’s membership list in the most difficult days of the civil rights struggle? Everyone involved with PornWikileaks is playing a most dangerous game. They target the performers and they target free expression itself.

“The Free Speech Coalition is actively exploring all viable legal responses to the situation and will do anything it can to protect adult performers,” Lee added.

Currently, industry attorney Corey Silverstein is representing client Paul Armstrong in a possible action against individuals using the PornWikileaks website for illegal activity. He is seeking performers that have had their personal information posted on PornWikileaks and have been threatened in any way by anyone connected to the site.

Comparing porn stars to civil rights activists(?!) aside, the intent of Porn Wikileaks–stalking, harassing, and extorting performers–is still wrong, and FSC is doing a great thing by offering to help performers maintain their privacy. Porn stars who would like to contact FSC and/or attorney Silverstein can do so through FSC at: PWL@freespeechcoalition.com.

  1. This is ridiculous… Porn people are regular people too and don’t deserve to be exploited like this… I left the porn industry two years ago. Porn is a thing of the past for me. I have a child and a normal life now and I don’t need some stalker looking up my info and finding me. Not to mention because of this site now everyone in my building knows… How dangerous is that? I’m super upset about this and there needs to be a way where u can take that off…. I’m sorry but who the f*** made this hater site… Really? that is so dangerous for me and my poor autistic child… She doesn’t need to hear about this shit.. I’m so hurt and upset…. And if aim healthcare did let out the names of everyone… That’s great cause they will b hearing from my lawyer who was one of the lawyers that won the o j case… N if he can get o j off… He can take me off this site even if it means going to the supreme court. Good luck porn wiki leaks cuz ur about to make me rich… Kiss my @$$ porn wiki leaks.

  2. I think if people keep on disclosing the names of porn models, a lot of them, both straight, gay, and gay4pay, will reckon it’s not worth having their privacy completely compromised for a few grand.

  3. People in porn can’t have it both ways. They often go on about how proud they are of their work and how they don’t care about what other people think, yet they get all hot and bothered when their real names are exposed. In many cases, people who aren’t that bright to begin with either:

    a) tried to juggle legitimate/fetish modeling porn careers

    b) Created numerous social networking accounts in which they began to friend fellow pornstars under their real names

and c) used easily traceable cell phone numbers in their escort ads

It’s kind of funny how most of the guys in the ads on this site can be found under their real names on pornwikileaks.

  4. While I think the entire PWL thing is misogynistic, homophobic, and racist, I’m not sure what can be done about it.

Can the FSC or ANY United States court take an action against a website that isn’t housed in the United States? I was under the impression that the site was out of Sweden. They are notoriously liberal in their free speach laws.

It seems to me that by trying to go after these guys they are only going to give them more press.

If they take it to court then how are these performers going to like it when it is on the nightly news or picked up by the AP.

  5. ughh my dumb ass had to google Porsche girl, thats horrible the images are burned into my eyes, and i am still having trouble getting my license now i am going to be even more nervous on my driving test.

  6. What are their legal options? I read the free speech coalition statement about how performers were defamed by being called whores, hookers, and degrading their family. Legally wouldn’t having sex on film for $$$ be considered an act of prostitution? If porn star X comes in and says they were defamed by porn wikileaks by being called an hooker but have an ad up on rentboy or some other escort site, would that really be defamation? Or if they were defamed by being accused of “degrading the whole family” would they start calling these people’s family members to the stand and ask them if they were embarrassed or ashamed of their relative doing porn? I don’t even know what the point is of that site now. It was to “weed out the gays” in straight porn but now it’s just a awful high school slam book of people in the porn industry and a lot of it is probably written by people that are active in the industry. I’m not exactly sure what they are extorting other then saying they will remove a name if they “renounce” crossovers and some porn agent. Again, I don’t really know what the point of that site is anymore.

Once someone’s name is posted/outed, it’s easy to dig up information about them on the internet through free people search engines (all pulled from free public state and county records)or semi public facebook/myspace pages. It’s been brought up before but I wonder if FSC will help Devon Hunter after his name outed in a press release by his former employer. I’ve seen legal names of porn performers posted on IMDB, TMZ, Radar Online, Wikipedia, Queerty (R.I.P.), Towleroad, and a whole host of other blogs and gossip sites. Will FSC go after them as well?

Perhaps there is a way of taking porn wikileaks down but judging by the FSC’s track record of defending the porn industry this past year (CAL OSHA/condoms and the .xxx domain issue), I don’t know if FSC are the ones that can. Now AIM is implying that the leaks could have come from another testing facility that was used when the clinic was shut down back in December. It’s a mess and I am surprised that something like this hasn’t happened sooner. When you give passwords that contain private medical information to an industry that has more than it’s fair share of less then honest people, there is a good chance that something like this could happen. One performer told me that he has been AIM tested recently but his name wasn’t listed and also said that he knew of other performers who said the same thing.

If Porsche girl’s parents weren’t successful at getting their daughters gruesome post-mortem photos taken off the net, nor are abortion doctors and their associates able to remove their names, addresses, and phone numbers, how will pornstars be able to?
