Nicola Porcella, the Peruvian-Italian hunk who found fame on reality TV, made headlines this week for coming out a second time — this time as straight. The actor, model, and former football player appeared on a number of reality TV shows beginning in 2012. But it was his appearance on the 2023 Mexican version of Celebrity Big Brother, titled La casa de los famosos México, that really cemented his fame with Latin American audiences.
Nicola Porcella’s appearance on La casa de los famosos México was so popular he became known as “El Novio de Mexico” (the boyfriend of Mexico), due to his charming personality and rugged good looks. Thanks to his popularity, Nicola ended up placing second overall in the competition. One of the most memorable moments of the season was when Nicola Porcella came out as pansexual to his two LGBT co-stars on the show, trans influencer Wendy Guevara and bisexual singer Apio Quijano.

Now it seems, this whole moment of acceptance and coming out was actually…a joke gone wrong? During an appearance on the podcast Out Of Context with Alexis Moreno, Nicola Porcella clarifies that he is actually heterosexual and that the scene was a big inside joke with his Queer cast members.
“The topic of pansexuality was a game that Wendy and Apio and I played with them, they bothered me, and I had fun,” he said. “But I am not, I am heterosexual.”

I don’t applaud people like that. He could be the most handsome man in the world, but this kind of lying behavior ruins everything for me. Accepting a sexuality other than heterosexual is a very delicate moment for most people and I think it’s quite irresponsible and insensitive to make a joke out of it. I don’t know this person and I only had to read the post to consider him socially irresponsible.

LOL, I don’t get all the “dithering” about oneself. I knew I was “different” when I was 8 years old, and by the time I was 12 I had the proper language connected to the “feeling.” Are “modern folks” that behind the times, or what? LOL…
