We at The Sword avoid The Tonight Show because Leno’s an unfunny moron who never deserved taking the helm from Johnny Carson in the first place; Joan Rivers did. But because it was 1992 and because Joan was busy with her daytime talk show and didn’t have quite the same Peoria appeal of the big-chinned comedian from Boston, the lamer Leno got the job.
Anyway, Leno has always taken great delight in showing off the stupidity of the American people in those man-on-the-street quizzes he does, and his opening monologues rank with some of the worst stand-up ever committed to video. Thus we find it pointless of Queerty to compose a diatribe about Leno’s occasional nods at homophobic humor (recalling that whole Ryan Phillippe gayface incident), when really he’s just a fool who wouldn’t be losing his job if he were more in touch with the culture at large anyway.
So, enjoy your 10PM timeslot, Jay. Your humor-challenged audience is elderly now. They go to bed early.

I cannot endorse Joan Rivers in any way.
But Conan does, in fact, ROCK, even though his humor will probably be watered-down now for the TONIGHT SHOW.
