We all need a porn fix. The supply seems endless. Too bad there’s no place you can go get the inside the scoop of what you will really find before you plunk down your bucks to watch them fuck. As it turns out, there is a place afterall.

The thing I like about this review site as opposed to many of the others is that it is honest. Let me explain …
I took a look at the review only a week ago, wanting to find out more about Naked Sword, because a friend had told me I should join the site. I’m not the kind of guy who buys into porn sites, and I don’t like the idea of throwing my money away, so, I like to know what I am going to find inside a members’ area before I sign-up. The thing is, many gay porn site tours look the same and make the same promises (only the models differ) and you’re never 100% sure if claims of ‘Over 22,000 scenes’, ‘Daily updates’ and of course, ‘The best porn site on the net’ are true. That’s why we need excellent review sites like Review Porn. They do that kind of groundwork for us and remove the risk of signing up only to find the tour wasn’t 100% honest.
Anyway, back to the review. The first thing that struck me was that Review Porn lay out their pages sensibly. There was a short summary at the top of the page which is handy as a quick-glance tool if you are not sure what you’re looking for – read six lines and you have an overall idea of the whole site under review. Next, they tell you the price, and in the case of Naked Sword, there was a trial offer and a monthly sign-up mentioned. There’s also a rating out of 100 which instantly tells you if the site is considered good (over 70, I guess) or just okay (round 50 to 70), or really not worth your time (under 50). Assuming it is worth your time, as it is in this case, you then read the text beneath that tells you all about the site’s members’ area.
So, when the tour says X number of videos, the guys who have reviewed the site for Review Porn have actually been in and counted them to check. They also lay this main review out in a logical way. I’ve noticed that the first paragraph is a general chat about what type of site you’re getting – i.e. its niche, and the kinds of models, what kind of porn it is. This is sometimes two paragraphs. Then there are details about how you find the content and exactly what there is. The review tells you how you stream the videos or download them, if they are HD, what formats they are and if they are compatible for mobiles etc. They do the same with images and galleries, and also give you the size of pics and how many there are, and of course, what the quality is like.
On top of the technical info though is a layer of what the reviewer thinks as an ordinary guy taking a look around a gay porn site. So, you do get his opinion but it is unbiased and honest, and that’s what we want to read. He (or she) then goes on to talk about the technical side of the site, how it looks, what other extras you might get, what fun features it has, and things like that. Each review is constructed sensibly with details about its content first and other interesting stuff afterwards, and set out on one page in logical order and, what’s more, I found it really easy to read. They also now include a paragraph about prices, which is really handy.
Also, to the side of the reviews at Review Porn, they have a ratings list so you can see what points the reviewer gave each of various categories. In the case of Naked Sword, it’s pretty much up to the top of the ratings in each category with 56/65 for content and 23/25 for design and features. You might think that the reviewer just pulled the numbers out of a hat, but I did some searching around and Review Porn does have guidelines for scoring (as do all good review sites), and they score according to those rules. I also found it that the writer, in this case, has been reviewing sites for over 12 years, so he knows what he is doing.
One last thing. Review Porn also put a checklist of good and bad points at the bottom of each review, after the summary, and it’s another handy little quick-glance tool. I find the site so easy to use that I can only think of plus points for my own quick-glance list, so by way of a summary, here they are:
