Rites of Ass-age: Adam Ramzi Takes On Gay-For-Pay Haters

Hello, readers! I hope all of you have had wonderful holidays and that 2015 has been off to as bizarrely challenging a start as it has for me! But bizarrely challenging in a positive way, I mean.

One question that was left in the comments of the last post reminded me of some of the Twitter exchanges I’ve seen over the past couple years that I find kind of fascinating. So let’s do this: the age old discussion of GAY-FOR-PAY.

I have worked with a handful of gentlemen who are straight-identified, some openly so, some are a little more private about it, all of them fantastic humans. The question in the comments was how I felt about working with these guys. It’s pretty simple: I feel great about working with them, because they are hard workers and good people.

The Twitter wars, however, were of a very different nature. Twitter, while my main means of peddling smut, seems to also have become a breeding ground for the kind of discourse that never goes anywhere, with people trying to have the last word on any topic of discussion (mostly political) in which the common folk are able to just throw an @soandso in their tweets, in the hopes that someone well known person will read their sometimes valid and often stupid opinions.

Normally I’m able to let things roll off my back, but there was one guy who wouldn’t let up, calling me out as not only straight but HIV-positive.

“Aren’t you straight?”
“That’s not *really* any of your business.”
“See, I knew you were straight, you won’t even admit it, is it because you’re ashamed of taking work from all these hardworking gay porn actors? You should stick to your own kind, breeder!!”
“…”

Also, something along the lines of (and i’m giving you the abridged versions here):
“Is there a reason you have not come out as HIV+?”
“Why would I do that if I’m not HIV+?”
“YOU’RE A LIAR AND YOU’RE THE SCUM OF THE EARTH, spreading shame and lies, HOW COULD YOU?”

Before I blocked these fuckers, there was one I had to call out and report, because it was straight-up cyberbullying. Ain’t nobody got time for that.

I bring this up because the straight-shaming I’ve seen among gay porn viewers made me recall some of what I’d studied during my graduate program about the doubts around bisexuality. Like it doesn’t exist. If you’re fucking dudes, you MUST be gay. And the truth about that is, it’s BULLSHIT. If I fucked a vagina, would that make me straight? Hell no, man. It would make me straight-curious. Or there really doesn’t need to be a label for that, does there?

We have focused so long on binary terms and labels in regards to sexual identity that we forget about all this grey area. If it’s making you hard when you watch, then what’s the problem? I mean granted, there are, in fact, those amateur scenes where the guys look so bored, like they can’t wait for whoever’s paying them to cum on their faces so they can grab their paycheck and run back to the military base or whatever. But some of the guys hired by big studios are hired because they are PROS.

Sexuality is a spectrum, and my fellow models who find themselves dancing on this spectrum will always have my support, and they should have yours as well.

And just so we are fucking clear as a bell on the issue: I am, in fact, HIV-negative, I have been taking Truvada/PrEP for 13 months, and I always have and always will stand by my HIV+ brothers, in porn, in life, until the cure is found. If you have a problem with any of the above, kindly FUCK OFF. Thanks! :-D

P.S. I realize most of you just want to read smut, and I’ll be posting some more of that soon.

  1. Any good looking man who takes his clothes off and fucks another man on camera is okay in my book. In my opinion (only mine) I think there has to be at least a little bit of an attraction for one man to have sex with another man. I know that as a gay man I could never have sex with a woman. The attraction is just not there. We have talked about this subject at work and the young men that I work with say that if your a man having sex with another man your gay. End of story. But I don’t know what’s going on in gay for pay models head. Maybe it is just a job for them and nothing more. They might be taking Viagra and thinking of some hot woman they want to have sex with. God knows I go to work day after day doing something I don’t like. Anything to bring the paycheck home.

  2. That was a great article! So glad you are breaking down the need to check a box. I’m all over the sexual spectrum and I don’t have to be judged for it.

    Write more of your learnings!

  3. Aram I love you to death babe, but I think you are over looking your fellow gay men’s reasoning for the backlash towards gay4pay. We now live in a time where gay men are more proud and accepting of themselves than they have ever been before. Men who identify as straight and who are sold to us in these baiting fantasy scenarios feed this ideal that gay men are not good enough for gay men. This long held belief that you can’t sell a fag to the masses because no one will buy it, not even another fag, it must die. Gay porn is a sanctuary for so many homosexual men, who love to see beautiful men do things they never believed they would experience in reality. While it is a fantasy, the fact that straight men are worshipped above gay men in a gay industry is damaging. Yes it is wrong to name call, and insult someone because of their sexuality or any other defining traits, but we are coming to a breaking point where what we are being sold isn’t good enough. A lot of gay porn doesn’t even represent gay men in any realistic terms; there are mostly scenarios with men of no particular orientation (or seemingly straight) who are caught or coersed into homosexual acts. The root of the problem is the intention of gay porn on our culture and community moving forward, because while we are sexually accepting of all we must also be respectful of ourselves, to love, support, and praise, smart, amazing gay men such as your self Mr. Ramzi.

  4. I’m disappointed with Adam Ramzi defending hetero men in gay porn. I will leave to accompany him and stop following him on twitter.

No doubt it is just a bisexual in the closet. A “gay” guy fucking cunts! GO TO HELL !!!

  5. I was so happy reading these BRAVE COMMENTS that were came from gay men like myself who were proud to stand up no matter what the other camp would going to say after. YES Im a POOR THIRD WORLD gay Asian who only wanted to see gay people first in this job. Despite the fact of my not fluent english I tried. Let’s keep on fighting. I have no problems of bisexuality although it’s new for me, and I also dont have problem watching straight porn I grew up with that. I hated those SNAKES or g4payer like Vadim Black , that Michael of SC and other instead of saying thank u they bited us.

  6. I’m surprised so many think a man with a wife, girlfriend or even just having sex with a woman must mean he’s straight. I’m in a relationship with a woman but that doesn’t change the fact I’m bisexual. Are there really gay guys out there who still believe bisexuality doesn’t exist?

    1. Sadly yes there are. They’re as stupid and ignorant as those who believe that homosexuality is a choice and that marriage should only be between a man and a woman. Yes, I said it. Gays’ intolerance of bisexuality is equal to that of homophobia.

    2. Actually, it is the heterosexual that are denying the existence of bisexuality and erasing it. After becoming aroused enough to perform same-sex acts and proclaiming themselves as straight or gay-for-pay, read; not bisexual, but straight, it ISO they, the straights that are denying and erasing bisexuality NOT the gays.

      1. I don’t believe gay4payers are heterosexual and I don’t know anyone who does. They are bisexual or gay and lying about their own sexuality for whatever reason. I’m more referring to those guys, many gay, who emphatically proclaim that such ‘n such gay porn actor is definitely straight because he has a wife and kids or because he enjoys doing straight porn as well.

    3. Don’t think the issue that commenters are addressing is whether or not bisexuality exists. The issue is that there are guys who perform in gay porn and claim they are neither bisexual nor gay. They claim they are only sexually interested in women (“straight”) and only perform homosexual acts for money. People are questioning whether this is a very big hypocrisy, or at best, a very small proportion of gay porn models.

If you are a nice looking gay boy/man, all you have to do is go out on a shopping trip wherever you are and you will be on the receiving end of lots of inquiring glances from guys just like yourself. Doesn’t mean it will lead anywhere, but it is common.

      1. I’ve met a few so-called gay4payers who readily state they are bi but toe the company line for money. The thing is, I don’t know what the studios are afraid of. Do their customers really prefer fake straight guys to genuine bisexual or gay guys?

        1. Maybe the studios perpetuate the myth think they are supplying what their customers want. How would they know in the past? So-called G4P stuff just sold so they kept making it, and still do. But it ain’t selling so well as it did (c/f the dropping subscription rates just to keep customers). They’ll keep doing that until it doesn’t sell. With e-discussions like this one happening (88 comments and counting) it is an issue that people obviously care about. If studios that are identified in places like this persist with making this mythical porn start to lose business they’ll change or disappear.

          1. Perhaps you’re right but I suspect they’ll fight it first. After all, they won’t want to risk losing what subscribers remain and who seem to think gay4pay is real. As such, I doubt much will change until the dinosaurs currently running most of the gay porn industry move on to other work, retire or die.

      1. Since I’ve never been anything other than bi, I don’t know know what to compare it to. For me at least, an easier path is not worth living a lie.

    4. NO, your question should be “are there any gay-for-pay guys out there who still believe bisexuality doesn’t exist?”

      1. The gay4payers know bisexuality exists because that it was they they are, either that or gay. They aren’t fooling anyone. Straight men don’t have sex with men. Bisexual and gay men do. It really is that simple.

  7. Looks like that Adam don’t fully understand what the problem is with g4p and why this hatred. It did not take out of nowhere.
For the avegare gay porn viewer – like myself, it does not matter whether the actor is gay, bi, or defines himself as straight, the only thing that interests him is what performer he is. If he is a fan, he also will be interested in what the person represents in the social media.
If he sees an actor who performs lacking passion mechanical movements in the rhythm of the clock while fucking a dude, do not suck cocks, do not kiss or rim his scene partner and looks as if his mind was elsewhere (probably planning on how to spend the money, he just earn), he feels cheated.

And when we add to this insulting tweets or blog comments, full of disgust to their work and lack of respect for the gay community, especially to the part affected by HIV, most g4p picture does not look as good as you describe it in your post.
They are good people and hardworkers until cash flows, look at Spencer Fox – just one of many examples, and how he said goodbye to his gay porn fans.

Apparently, you were lucky to work with a small group of g4p who well pretend to like gay sex or are really bisexual, but ashamed to admit, as it did reduce their payments.
Thus, the average gay porn viewer prefer to watch gay or bisexual in the movies, because they do not have to pretend anything in front of the camera, and beyond.

It seems that you are more interested in how the g4p are perceived than the real problems of the LGBT community, which you supposedly care to, if you spend your time and energy on such posts like this.

Most of g4p do not care what gay porn viewers think about them, they care only for their money.

ps. english is not my native language, so I apologize if I offended anyone.

  8. Honestly I’m more annoyed with gay porn stars (whether they’re gay or gay4pay) pulling out the “I don’t label myself/believe in labels” card out of their ass when it comes to their sexuality. After years of gay rights, gay men shouldn’t have to feel ashamed or scared or embarrassed for being upfront about their sexuality. It’s like that one interview with Tayte Hanson when he said he’s gay in society but wouldn’t label himself as that. Such chickenshit and a slap in the face to gay men who don’t feel the need to pussyfoot (pun intended) around labels.

As for this article, whatever I still think gay porn should have more openly gay actors instead of straight guys who would fuck anything and get paid for it. *sighs*

    1. yup I agree with you Tayte was so gay in his video with Joey Lafointaine but it was hard for him to admit the truth. It’s kinda disappointing to the community.

    2. fyi: tayte hanson is not gay but bisexual he fucked women too so that’s why he wouldnt label as gay. read the previous the sword threat about bisexuality of tayte hanson

  9. If they are PROS, then they have experience fucking men. How straight is that?

How many professions hire workers with NO experience? Is really fun to watch them lose their virginity to gay sex, maybe the first time, but after that?

PROS have experience or they are damn good learners and actors, and if they are that good, maybe they should consider acting or some other kind performing art that pays better and their kids don’t have to hide their head at school.

  10. The really sad part is the all the guys who buy the gay4pay who want their models straight (er masculine), who don’t like gay men, even thought they are gay themselves. All those fans of Corbin Fisher and Gay Hoopla (which is far from being gay hoopla. Owned by straight guys, should be called Straight Hoopla).

  11. Wow, I thought everyone realized the gay4pay schtick was just part of the fantasy. My question is to those who pay studios featuring pretend straight guys. Would you really cancel your subscription if you found out they were bisexual or gay?

  12. This issue just never goes away ! It’s porn guys & girls ! It is what it is! Im sure this industry – like so many others is full of fraudsters, smoke screens , lies etc and whilst the gay 4 pay is used as a marketing tool – gay porn had always had lots of guys who like girls offscreen . That’s just the way it is . I don’t get it at all but I’m not a sex worker .
The porn companies are selling a fantasy – and the ” consumer” had the real ” power ” here
Supply & Demand. Apparently there are a lot of people who get off on ” straight men ” having gay sex !

    1. I don’t know about other guys, but I don’t get off watching “straight guys” having gay sex. I get off watching good looking muscular guys having gay sex, whatever their real sexual orientation. As if we can ever see into another’s head and read his actual sexual inclinations, fantasies and orientation. If I like the way the models look and perform, I subscribe. If I don’t, I don’t. If the G$P haters don’t like watching a guy they believe is straight, they shouldn’t watch him or subscribe to sites that employ models like him. It’s fairly simple: Watch what you like. Don’t watch what you don’t like. They should stop belly aching and enjoy the porn that appeals to them.

  13. As a guy who likes watching gay, g4p and bi guys in hot gay porn scenes, I really appreciated reading a hot gay performer’s positive views on working with g4p guys. It is a refreshing counter balance to a lot of the g4p hate rants that often appear on this site. Go Adam!!!

  14. “If I fucked a vagina, would that make me straight? Hell no, man. It would make me straight-curious”
If you get hard fucking a chick, and above all you ejoy it, then hell no man, your are at most bisexual.
There is no such thing as a gay4pay, it’s just porn producers invention to sell the product better. And if you’re ashamed to admit that you are bi, then you are the one having problem, not those straight-shaming porn viewers as you call them.

    1. what about straight for pay actor ? like arpad miklos and other actors who identified aas gay but had done straight or bi scenes.

      1. arpad, blake harper, blake riley and others dont have a problem getting hard to fuck women vagina and they said they’re enjoyed it.

    1. lol no it won’t you unwanted bottom. If Adam is gone from the industry it is by choice. The industry continues to hire drug addicts, pedophiles, woman beaters, boyfriend beaters, drunk drivers, etc. So there’s no chance that Adam will be blacklisted just because he has an opinionated mind.

  15. Straight-shamming? Give me a fucking break. What’s next, Ku-Klux-Klan shaming? By the way, I did my Majors in Gender Studies and my Minors in Study in Sexuality and my Graduate in Communications Studies, if we’re going to start tossing degrees around like dick sizes, so let’s go. Your studies clearly failed you, or else you fell asleep in class. For as you must know the dominant class in society is never actually discriminated against given that they remain in power. Currently in our society despite some of the changes and gains of LGBT communities, the Heterosexual class is still the most valuable in our society. If this was not the case, your country especially, the United States of America would not have such an issue with the adoption of gay marriage. Plenty of countries around the world have recognized marriage between same-sex couples, your country? Not so much and there is a HUGE powerful resistance against it. Not just from the high echelons of political power but the religious and also the cultural. I.E. Phil Robertson. But we’ll get back to him and his ilk soon.

There is a wonderful thing you most likely learned in your graduate degree called Hegemony. But in case you slept through that, here’s the gist of it. The dominant class cannot always dominate by using brutal force. At some level in order to maintain control, the dominant class has to use subtle signals in order to gain the support of those it dominates over. It uses things like the family, the school, religion in order to spread its message softly into the masses that will accept it. Sometimes the dominant class will take on the opposing message but twist it in such a way as to make it seem subversive when in reality it is the same status-quo, toe the line. Gay for Pay is such an example of Hegemony. You see, we have NOT yet gotten to a social place where Straight/Heterosexual is bad and Gay/Homosexual is good. We have reached states of tolerance and acceptance, but not necessarily is Homosexuality the ideal to which the mass society aims as it’s ideal of lifestyle. Homosexuality is still a niche.

As we see changes in attitudes towards Homosexuality, there still remains a very powerful opposition. So they use Hegemonic messages such as Gay-for-Pay to signal, yes, we’re cool with occasional, phase-like homosexuality, but not permanently practices of homosexuality. So we may accept that men will from time to time ‘experiment’ with homosexuality and their sexuality. They can be ‘Fluid’ ‘Queer’ “Bi-Curious’ ‘Straight” but they CAN NEVER BE HOMOSEXUAL. Once the treshold is crossed into Homosexual then man has committed the great sin. Because, homosexuality HAS NEVER been accepted. Not even by the Greeks. But I’m sure your graduate degree and studies in Bisexuality told you that, right? The contentious relationship between masculinity and homosexuality and the reasons why those exists in order to maintain heterosexual men in the position of power and dominance over women? Right? You did study that, right?

Hegemonic wise, gay-for-pay is essentially a rebranding of gay shame in a modern sense. So gay-for=pay is not the homophobia of old, although many porn studios still use the homophobia of old in as fodder to titillate. This is a myopic view of sexuality, because not all gay men, myself included find rape and homophobia sexy. Gay-for-Pay is as a ludicrous an identity as a Jewish Nazi. However, all things are possible given that Gertrude Stein was such.

There is this argument that so many people on this site use that I find so stupid. About how sexuality is fluid and diverse and those who oppose gay-for-payers are narrow minded to the openess of sexuality. Coming from pornography I find this argument laughable. Pornography is the LAST place where sexuality is diverse. Actually, in pornography sexuality is pretty basic. The models are all cookie-cut-out look-a-likes, the scenarios are all the same. For a business that is supposed to be so diverse they sure discriminate against Queens don’t they? And who was it that said, the hair stylist is never part of the fantasy? Let’s see, since it’s hey-day pornography has been using the same and tried formula: cops, cowboys, locker room jocks, married men -straight married men by the way, interesting to note that not even gay porn acknowledges gay marriage-. For the most part the models have the same look, the same body type. Gay pornography would NEVER diversify its models. Once in a while they do, but not enough to claim this as an example of diversity. It is about as stupid as the suggestion that Obama signifies the end of racism. Just because Allen Silver is used once in a while… but let’s see porn get REALLY diverse and let’s see Paddy O’Brien or Rocco Reed or these people that can ‘just get it up’ at the click of a camera to bury their faces between Thomas Vergen’s buttcheeks. Let’s see Rocco Reed get fucked in the ass by Thomas Vergen. It’s not gonna happen. And so, Thomas Vergen remains in the margins of gay porn, or his type relegated to straight porn because he does not fit the myopic, not diverse view of what gay men like.

Finally, where this ‘fluidity’ argument lacks, is then by extension you can pray away the gay. If sexuality is like a light-switch that you can just turn on and off then parents do have a legitimate concern to protect their children from homosexual propaganda. No different than anyone who would want to protect their children from Islamist propaganda. Because gayness, according to those who argue fluidity can happen just as suddenly. And when Conservative and Religious people advocate for reparative therapy, then it must work. If Rocco Reed is straight and so is Paddy O’Brien, then hell, so too must Ted Haggard be. Same with Senator Craig. And Aaron Shock. But the gays go out of their gay to ruin these lives simply because they do not agree with the political views they endorse, but people WHO MAKE A CONSCIOUS CHOICE TO APPEAR IN SAME-SEX, SEX ACTS retain their heterosexuality intact.

Folks, it’s an argument of convenience.

Gay-For-Pay is not only furthering homophobia by means of rebranding GAY SHAME as explored by Eve Sedwick in The Epistemology of the Closet, which I’m pretty sure you read in your graduate studies, but gay-for-pay does so in hegemonic means. Not to mention the gross cultural appropriation that the privilege class enact while real gay lives are in danger of brutalization within the United States for acting a lot less that sticking your tongue up a man’s asshole while having 4 different cocks up your ass. It is a high-jacking of sexuality in order to legitimize and maintain the domination of heterosexual men.

Phil Robertson told GQ Magazine that he could not for the life of him understand the attraction of one’s man’s anus to another. To him the vagina has it all. And homosexuality is a step from beastiality. Take that as you will. Some laughed. Some became angry. Phil Robertson was removed from that useless show, but apparently his brand has such force that complaints from his fans got him back on. Haha. The reality of the situation is that while those who are comfortably living their lives independently and can jerk off to as much porn all day if they like, there are MANY gay people who live in the vicinity of the Phil Robertsons of this world. Their parents are followers of figures such as Phil Robertson, Pat Robertson, Bill O’Reilly, Rick Perry, Santorum, etc. That is the reality of many gay people. And for this privileged bunch that is the gay-for-payer that maintains his heterosexual privilege it is an alignment to reparative therapy no different than Richard Cohen. Afterall, he came out straight remember? And he spoke to the prejudice that the gays had against him for coming out straight. And his work has been used in Africa in order to justify death penalties for homosexual acts.

Finally, the spectrum. Oh that wonderful spectrum that people speak of. They speak of it with as much knowledge of it as they have towards Darwin Theory of Evolution. Like the racists and the sadists that distort Darwinism in order to justify acts of brutality as a means of survival of the fittest, so too does this spectrum get twisted to justify a particular point of view. When Darwin said survival of the fittest he meant those species that can survive any landscape in spite of limitations and can best adapt to their conditions. Not everyone should carry on in acts of senseless carnage. Just the same, the spectrum has the hetero at one end, the homo at the other. Everything in between lies between those two. BUT people who swing have ceased to be part of the extremity that is completely straight, thereby if not homo neither hetero, in spite of the reassurance from those who think they know what they are talking about when they invoke the spectrum.

For you Adam Ramzi to talk about straight-shamming as if it were akin to the marginalization that gays have felt around the world, in YOUR country it is a disgusting disrespect and you might as well brand yourself as a proud Aryan that is shamed by ungrateful coloured people. It was not Heterosexuals that were after all hunter under McCarthyism. It is not heterosexual politics that has had to deal with the fall out of that.

So you know what Adam Ramzi kindly take your gay-for-payers and FUCK OFF my gay porn and stop appropriating my culture. Cultural appropriation, I’m sure you learned this one too in graduate studies.

P.S. when a gay-for-payer vociferously exerts his HETEROSEXUALITY, he is in fact erasing and DENYING the existence of Bisexuality. Last I checked, gay-for-payers were not walking around proclaiming their bisexuality proudly, they were procliaming their HETEROSEXUALITY with vehemence. The only ones erasing bisexuality is the heteros. Get a fucking clue

      1. Wow, thanks for the notice. He’s really choosing to go with his straight side even placing an add on Match.com for a girl. Not both, just girls.

How gay was he after all? Maybe one of those who wanted to be bi so that he could fit in the industry, but wasn’t really.

        1. Saw Logan McCree on cam4.com the other day, looking worse for the wear. Not sure what he was up to, but it looked boring. Those tatts are looking a bit tragic these days.

  16. I read Adam Ramzi’s previous article, in part justifying becoming involved in porn. That one had plenty of shortcomings. For example, you don’t have to become involved in something to study it. In fact, being involved in what you’re studying (porn in his case) can remove your objectivity in setting up your study and analysing any results. This article by Ramzi is similar, where he apologises for G4Payers. Cyberbullying is one thing, but his analysis of G4P falls short IMO.

I agree with much of what is written by the other contributors, especially what Cory writes. I’d like to add a bit to the discussion that hasn’t been brought up yet. I buy few scenes in which I know that a model is G4P. It seems to me that G4P as an element of gay porn will diminish in importance to the business of gay porn for a number of reasons, some of them which relate to the very elements that have made porn such a profitable business to date.

Purveyors of porn are in the business of profiting from the sexual fantasies of consumers of porn. The product is produced and sold only because of the profit motive. The fundamental business is not changing, but elements that support it are, as they inevitably do. The major change is in the technology, in particular, the evolution of the Internet, which is now the major distribution channel for porn, and how it allows the dissemination of information (and is permanent).

Porn can only be sold profitably if the consumer is willing to pay a price for material to assist the fantasy that helps to achieve sexual gratification. It is the element of fantasy that is so important and this is what the discussion should include. From what I’ve read, for gay men, there are certain elements necessary for porn to be successful and thus marketable. These include seeing actual penetration, orgasm and apparent enjoyment of the sexual act by the models (see Jeff’s comment above for more). If those elements are not there, the fantasy will be incomplete (and the money will not be forthcoming).

Another element worth discussing is also that gay porn can be an affirmation of sexual identity, i.e. that other guys enjoy engaging in sex with other men like you do, and it is OK. G4P does not do that. Instead of helping to affirm your homosexual identity, it teaches you that (apparently) hetero models only engage in homo-sex for pay and nothing more. It might even be distasteful, but bearable because of the money. That destroys the fantasy.

Unlike Dan’s comment above, the fantasy does not necessarily start or end with what is in the scene for every consumer. Part of the fantasy may be also that, were you to come across the model in some real-life situation, they might be interested in you sexually like you are interested in them, however true or possible that might be. You cannot have that fantasy when you know the model is G4P.

As technology developed, it became possible to make ever more money from gay porn by producing material adequate to invoke the fantasies that made it saleable, eg. Super-8 film, videotapes, DVDs and now simple Internet downloads. But that same technology is used by the modern “celebrity” culture to market yourself and for the exchange of information in doing so. In the increasingly competitive world of Internet gay porn, you need to use the Internet (Twitter, Instagram, etc.) to market yourself so consumers will buy your scenes and you can get paid to make the next one. But the same technology makes it possible for gay porn consumers to find out much more about you than the persona you would like to create and maintain.

Apparently, G4Payers create a “persona” which allows them to justify their activities in gay porn. Given the exchange of information on the Internet, it is much harder to put borders around your persona, thanks to platforms noted above that allow blogs like this one to expose information that models would like to conceal (eg. Johnny Vapid).
We are seeing already the results of the continued development of the Internet in the changing dynamics of the business of porn. We know that subscriptions to porn sites are dropping (eg. $99 for 2 years of Cockyboys, $100 for 3 years of Men.com, CF cheaper), amalgamations (SeanCody and the Men stable, Nextdoorworld, etc) and the rates for porn models are dropping.

Given that the very same medium that you use to market yourself so you can make more money in porn is also the one that can destroy your carefully constructed persona, my bet is that G4P is or will become a dinosaur. It just won’t be possible to fuck a guy for a scene and go home to the wife and kids without your neighbours, family, etc. knowing. It won’t be so attractive to “explore” your sexuality, “do it only for the money”, blah, blah, blah, and keep it a secret. The money ain’t that good, and everybody will know whether you like it or not. Especially your kids.

  17. I pay for gay porn, but I say that in gay porn industry there are many straight guys thay says: “I m gay” “I M bi” and after days I see that they are in relationship with a girl. I think that actors be honest with respect to the sexuality.

          1. Oh yes and Jordi Lim was one of the cunts who threw a huge shitfit over it and called out Trenton as a complete fake, along with his other goon friends on twitter.

    1. most of gay porn models are bisexuals, the kingsey scale shows at 0-5, well known gay porn models who claim emselve as gay on twitter or webs in general is actually kingsey scale in 5 who have bi tendecy. ex : ryan rose, boomer banks, adam russo and many more.

      1. I know, some gay actors are liars, for example:

rocco steele is a liar, he is not gay, bisexual, someone once asked him if he was bisexual and he said yes but then he deleted it

austin wilde is another gay for pay:

        https://twitter.com/AustinWilde/status/456338267080634368

francois sagat is not gay, he was kissing to a women and even a woman made him a blowjob

        https://twitter.com/MontalbanCamila/status/423454590328000512/photo/1

mario costa who says he is gay but it’s not gay, he is heterosexual and even wanted to do straight porn

david avila despite being married to a man, he is bisexual and posed naked with a woman named julia de lucia and then delete so no one would notice.

jon galt ¿could you give me more names?

        1. Nah Men you have to learn the difference Zachary ask austin in the way than they were joking about that , Austin wilde leave Nextdoor Studios because he don´t want to work with more Gay-4-pay models that’s why he ows his Studio and he also be asked a lot of times about if he has sex with womans his aswer always is than He’s a Gold Gay Star , if he were bi trush me Zachary who has a very famous block will outed him long time ago … and that Bitch with Francois sagat is a lesbo who has a sex blog were post all the pors festival aroud Spain that Photo is one year ago were francois made a sexual performance that bitch made interview Behind the scenes and always make the same with all the porn stars Straight or Gays .

        2. Austin wilde is a gold star gay, mario costa is very active in the gay community in south Florida, Blake Riley is active in the nw Arkansas gay community and has a boyfriend. He quit porn to work at his boyfriends cheerleading school in Nevada, arpad used caverject and viagra. Despite the porn persona, he leaned towards bottoming in his personal life and was bitter that scene derailed his career. Trenton Ducati is married to a man and the Michael lucas exclusive disaster should be a good indication that hes not fucking women.

          1. how did you know that arpad used caverject and viagra ? he was sex worker i think he he didnt use those stuffs, some rumours said he worked at stright club

        3. I somehow agree I also read why NDS and Austin had bad blood for each other bcoz the latter refused to do a scene with g4pay actors so he left that worthless cheap Zachary Sire sponsor NEXT DOOR Studio.

        4. Dude you need to stop believing gossip blogs and overreacting to pictures from gay strip shows. Gay men can be flirtatious without having sex with someone, I see English isn’t your first language, but if you read English interviews with most of these guys you would know they are gay.

  18. I’m pretty sure most porn consumers couldn’t care less about the real lives of performers, they just want you to be good at selling a fantasy. Those of us commenting on blogs of twitter are a minority, from a business perspective, you shouldn’t pay attention to us

    1. Porn blogs are the equivalent of focus groups that are used by corporations looking for trends to follow in modifying their wares for future sale. It would be naive to think that what is written on these blogs is to be ignored. What is important for porn-makers is to figure out how these comments will affect their businesses in the future and what might be the cost of ignoring these comments. It would be naive to think that the contributors to these blogs don’t communicate with other people and that these comments are not representative in any way of the market. The question is how representative they might be.

  19. Straight shaming? Someone needs to quit reading Jezebel. Their are some amazing straight guys in porn! Wife beaters, child molesters, thiefs, convicted felons, homophobes and drug addicts.

Sorry but there have been too many stories about “straight identified” performers that have received preferential treatment from certain companies over out gay models, talent that has been open about how disgusting they think doing gay sex scenes are, talent who were told to say they weren’t gay because they wouldn’t be as appealing, talent that has to go above and beyond to accommodate talent because they have limits that no gay porn performer should have, not to mention the half assed performances they give and the chronic limp dicked “straight” guys that suck the eroticism out of a scene.

People, gay or straight, will always look at someone with extreme skepticism who claims to be straight when they are eating and taking raw load after load. Especially knowing the short term benefits, long term consequences, and the low pay that most companies are offering now.

Yeah some of the reaction is immature and on the extreme, but it’s kid stuff compared to what you read on TMZ, IMDB and many entertainment, sports and political blogs and forums. You have sex on camera, have an active social media accounts, and many have pathetic wish lists that cater to lonely guys that most of these performers wouldn’t give a second look at or would shit on in real life. Grow a pair, you aren’t trying using your position to encourage social change, working to cure chronic or terminal illnesses, or are producing anything that is ground breaking or unique. I doubt any of these guys get .00000000000000000001% of the hate that lgbt celebirties and advocates Michael Sam, Laverne cox, Rosie odonnell or George takei get, nor do I see them whining about it.

  20. If you are going to be a straight guy making gay porn, then more power to you. HOWEVER, you better be doing the proper amount of foreplay, deep throating dick, sucking on some ass, showing you can throw a hard fuck & take a hard fuck, and most importantly, you better be kissing your costars (and being mentally present in said kissing….and I better be seeing tongue), and showing the viewing public you are enjoying all of those activities. Spunk in & on all the pussy you like on your own time, but when you are asking for my money, then you will be fucking in a way *I* deem appropriate.

  21. This is sooooooo shortsighted.

Sorry not sorry but the so-called “straight shaming” is not only understandable but inevitable. It’s also anything but “straight shaming”. Gays are constantly sold on the idea that straight is “better.” Gays are indoctrinated to believe that straight=masculine. Beyond the simple “gay is wrong,” we are taught that “straight is valuable” and anything less than straight is not simply worth less but worthless.

The backlash against so-called “straight” men in gay porn has to be interpreted socially, outside the porn bubble. Not only are producers of porn continuing this “straight is better” ideology, but men who have sex with other men for the entire world to see are desperately clinging onto heterosexual/heterosexist privilege and their apologists expect us to simply smile and go along with it.

    Um…no.

As long as there continues to be a faulty connection made between sexuality and gender (straight=masculine) then gay-for-pay will continue to be a point of contention. These guys can claim to be “straight” all they want but the second they engage in sex with other men–regardless of how they identify themselves–they forfeit their heterosexual privilege. The rest of the world doesn’t care WHY these guys have sex with other men, all they care about is that they ARE having sex with other men. The rest of the world does NOT consider these guys straight. We know it and the gay-for-payers know it. The point is — by constantly exerting their so-called heterosexuality — THEY are engaging in GAY-SHAMING. They are essentially saying, “I might have sex with men, but I’m no faggot.” Adam is conveniently leaving out how these guys are the ones who are constantly labeling themselves as “straight.” They aren’t labeling themselves as “bi” or “bi-curious” or anything in his wonderful land of grey areas.

This issue goes well beyond how these guys identify in their personal lives and touches on the hierarchy imposed on sexuality, which places heterosexuality above homosexuality. To take the apologist route like Adam is doing here only shows that Adam has no idea that the anger being expressed isn’t “straight shaming” but pain. It’s the pain of a culture that informs its citizens “straight is better” to the point where so many gays actually believe this ideology, support it, and pour their money into it.

There are NO straight men in gay porn. There are men in gay porn who cannot bring themselves to give up their heterosexual privilege and see themselves as “less than” straight. This has nothing to do with their sexuality but rather their desperate need to still be considered “real men” even though they have sex with other men. It is one of the most insidious manifestations of homophobia and thankfully apologists like Adam are becoming fewer and fewer.

Besides, people like Adam are asking the wrong question. The question isn’t why people are so bothered by “straight” men in gay porn; the question is why men in gay porn so desperately want to label themselves as “straight.”

When you ask the right question, the answer becomes obvious. They so desperately want to label themselves as “straight” because they can’t psychologically handle all the cultural baggage that comes with identifying as “not-straight.” This desperation is so great that they are willing to engage in sex with other men for the entire world to see and STILL label themselves as straight. Moreover, they do so with the full knowledge that 99% of the world’s population does not consider them to be straight.

We must ask ourselves WHY an ally in their situation would even label themselves as straight. Why would they even WANT to take part in this kind of backwards, convoluted sexual hierarchy?

The answer belies the homophobia: because the biggest threat of all to them is being seen as anything “less than straight.”

So go ahead Adam, defend them all you want. All you’re actually doing is defending some ideal that supposes the best thing a man can be is “straight.” The fact that it’s such a misguided ideal isn’t the worst part. The worst part is that by defending them you’re cosigning the ideal yourself, an act that speaks volumes about how you view yourself–whether you’re aware of it or not–and that’s simply sad.

    Really, really fucking sad.

    1. You are totally on point, and you didn’t have to be a porn sex worker to learn what you know unlike Adam’s distorted rationale for doing porn to grow and understand himself.

“…Adam is conveniently leaving out how these guys are the ones who are constantly labeling themselves as “straight.”

He doesn’t want to piss of the guys who screw him!

He did learn this nonsense in any reputable graduate school.

  22. Wow, the utter pretentious bullshit of this piece can hardly be credited. “Straight-shaming”? “My graduate program”? Please shut the fuck up, Adam Ranzi.

    1. It seems that Adam Ramzi is a good example of what a university degree does for you. Achieving an undergraduate degree simply means you are at least average intelligence and are committed enough to finish a course of studies, but no more. I have often said that an undergraduate degree teaches you where the library is; a PhD teaches you how to use it. Even then, there are plenty of people I have come across with PhDs who just aren’t that intelligent. And there are lots of intelligent people who don’t have degrees. Trotting out the “I’ve got this degree, so I must be right”, blah, blah, is just bullshit.

  23. Thank you Adam Ramzi for saying what needed to be said. Indeed, sexuality is a spectrum and it is so damn tiring to hear those who insist that those who don’t identify in a manner they don’t understand is less valid or worth derision. These straight-phobic and bi-phobic individuals should sort out problems with their own sexuality issues before criticizing others. But we know that those who rant garbage anonymously online are an insignificant minority (watching bootlegged porn on tube channels). The people who matter – the ones who pay for porn and appreciate it – are the silent majority.

    1. Straight-phobic? Are you fucking kidding me??? Have straight people been systematically hunted by a political regime as have Homosexuals? Have there been laws against Heterosexualiy? Has the death penalty even been given out on the basis of being a heterosexual? Have straight people been erased from the public sphere? From television, film, literature, art? Have straight people been beaten, brutalized and murdered on the basis of being straight? Get a fucking clue. Check your fucking privilege.

      1. Don’t know about your history but I wasn’t an activist in the LGBT rights campaigns going back decades so queers can attack others for their sexuality. Discrimination is wrong no matter how you look at it. Check your victim-card.

        1. Victim card? ThT’s rich! Coming from some some bitch whining about imagined systemic hetero phobia? Thanks for the laughs. When historical evidence is presented to you, you come with the victim hood card. Well, you’re vying for gold there aren’t ya, ya poor, mistreated hetero. Make sure they don’t toss you into concentration camps over it. Or better yet keep them from praying say the straight from ya. What with your victim ID as straight. Let me guess, it also ain’t easy being white, right?

  24. I agree there is a spectrum called bisexuality. Just don’t like it when guys call themselves straight because they are ashamed of the bi label. Don’t like it when they shame gay sex. Don’t want to hear about their girlfriends/wives (turn off).

Don’t think we should bend over backwards slowing down shoots so they can watch pussy porn or go throw up in between scenes. Get gay guys for pete’s sake.

Don’t like the industry’s equating masculinity with straightness as if gay guys cannot be masculine. And selling straightness as the ideal or as if it’s hotter than being gay.

Really don’t like it when Corbin Fisher expects their true gays to fuck chicks to prove they are a man.

Otherwise, bi guys, even those of you sleeping with women most of the time, welcome to the fold. Just don’t shame us or embarrass yourselves. We’ve fought to long for gay pride. The labels gay and bi are not to be dismissed but embraced. This is the clientele you serve.

    1. Some of the CF “hetero” scenes are amusing. It is so obvious the gay boys are going through the motions for CF. At least darling Quinn got to just watch and wait for his turn in a later scene.

    2. I completely agree. I also find it interesting that bisexual men routinely blame bi-erasure on gay folks and ‘the haters’ when they have only themselves to blame. They overwhelmingly reject their bisexual identity because they see it as ‘label’ not much different from gay, and obviously, in their self-hating, homophobic view, that’s something to be ashamed of. I have no problem with bi-men, as long as they own their identity instead of trying to hide behind some ridiculous ridiculous ‘gay-for-pay’ or ‘straight’ label.

    1. Are you really that desperate sxg, FYI I havent visited Twitter for many weeks because I was busy and not into it maybe bored. Just stop ok you are so bitter. And I dont have a plan to follow Adam although I wish him the best.

        1. I agree, whoever you are. Anyone can see on twitter what kind of a douchebag this guy is along with his 3rd-world asian friends who try and terrorize performers on twitter just because they may not be gay. It’s funny that he hates bi/g4p performers, but drools over Ken Ott who is supposedly bi only because he’s a native of his own country. Talk about being biased!

          1. I totally agree, guy-with-the-same-name-as-me. He’s everything you say he is. And furthermore, he doesn’t know how to drive either.

          2. Really on Twitter I never said anti g4pay in there if I found out they were liars it was so easy to unfollowed them. I never said that I hate Bisexual so I supposed you were on drugs again sxg. Stop being fake. What was your problem if I love Ken Ott. And please dont ne such an idiot those people are latinos and even americans but they arent like you who are ashamed on his ownself thats why you adore g4p models so much.

          3. Im not biased to Ken Ott he’s a bisexual like Gabriel C. so it’s ok for me to support him. FYI Brazil, latinos aren’t from Asia so you should study first before taking cocaine for you to know what you were talking about. Lastly I didnt use twitter just to terrorize and bash a g4pay pornstars infact I just ignored them eventhough they followed me first.

    2. Maybe we gay folks feel we’re being used by common opportunists. Grifters. Oh, and it doesn’t seem fair that Johnny Rapid is getting more gay sex than I am. It’s showbiz, and showbiz isn’t real life and all this complaining is useless … and boring. All the bitching in these forums seems like we’re trapped in a community theater production of ‘Who’s Afraid of Virginia Wolf?’ Let’s all get back to trashing short dudes.
