Directed by The Sword’s own co-founder Michael Stabile, Seed Money: The Chuck Holmes Story is near and dear to our hearts. As part of the Frameline LGBT Film Festival, you can see it for yourself this Sunday, June 21, if you happen to be in San Francisco.
Sunday’s screening marks the West Coast premiere of the film, which had its world premiere in April at the Boston LGBT Film Fest.
NakedSword is proud to have provided finishing funds to the film, and is helping support the film during its festival run. NakedSword Indie, which previously released the film I Want Your Love, and is among the distributors Stabile is negotiating with for an eventual release.
In his piece for the HuffPo titled “How Gay Porn Helped Build the Gay Rights Movement”, Stabile explained how gay porn is an essential part of gay life, and has helped shape the gay male identity over the past three decades. And as he discussed in this exclusive interview with The Sword, the documentary tells the story of how integral Falcon Studios founder Chuck Holmes is to creating the world of gay porn as we know it.
The San Francisco Chronicle calls the movie “sexually frank, moving and informative,” and the movie’s Facebook page is rapidly filling with dutifully earned glowing reviews, like this one from Boy Culture.
‘Seed Money: The Chuck Holmes Story” is being shown this Sunday, June 21, 9:15 PM at the Castro Theatre and you can get your tickets right HERE
