Remember? It was up for Best New Site, despite the fact that it hasn’t even launched yet. Now, Riley Price has had his nomination removed from the list of nominees. (Meanwhile, Chris Crocker–who hasn’t appeared in a single frame of gay porn–is still up for a Cybersocket Award in the Best Newcomer category. Will he ask to have his nomination pulled, too? Should The Sword ask for its nomination to be pulled, just for fun?!)
This is the second nominee adjustment in as many days that the beleaguered awards show has had to make, but it’s the first time (that I can recall) in which a gay porn star has ever turned down a chance at winning an award. Is this real life?
“I didn’t feel it was right for me to have a ‘Best New Website’ nomination when I have no content to validate a win let alone a nomination. This was a choice I made,” Riley Price tells The Sword. “It was the right thing to do. I have no right being nominated this year.”
Riley Price is the Sacheen Littlefeather of gay porn.
