So we were extra excited to discover Art Fag City, a blog devoted to just the kind of museum and gallery shit we like best: jockstrap art, absurd YouTubery, and blogs of young male photographers who enjoy taking nudes of themselves, sometimes with erect cocks.
Art Fag City’s weekly Best Link Ever! series, posted on Fridays, has provided such brilliant discoveries as Romanian pop singer, R&B parodist and as they call her “the anti-Beyonce,” Miss Platinum whose video with Peter Fox had us laughing for days. The site was responsible for showing us a clip of a Steven Meisel photo shoot from 1983 featuring all the major models of the era dressed like Madonna, as well as taking a rare photo of bald hermaphrodite twin art fans Eva and Adele at the Miami art fairs in December.
Basically, when we at The Sword are done scanning the porn star blogs and celebrity gossip aggregators that are our bread and butter, clicking on Art Fag City is like a semi-highbrow palate cleanser. Only downside (assuming you’re a little fag-centric, like we are): it’s edited by a chick, Paddy Johnson, and the term “art fag” isn’t just reserved for gallery-going gay males anymore. But Paddy’s got our backs.
