SNOOZEFLASH: 365gay.com Trying to Find Something Gay About the Inauguration

The site special lesbian envoy to the inauguration, Jennifer Vanasco apologizes for not being able to Twitter the event (no signal! :-() but she took copious notes about the few gay-friendly moments that arose.

To wit:

Many gays and lesbians were especially interested in the invocation by the Right Rev. Gene Robinson, the gay Episcopal bishop (which wasn’t shown on HBO. Shame on them.)

and

After a speech commenting about the evils of discrimination by Queen Latifah, Heather Headly and Josh Groban sang “My Country ‘Tis of Thee” – backed by the D.C. Gay Men’s Chorus… I only knew that it was the Gay Men’s Chorus because another member of the media pointed it out. Only then did I see their AIDS ribbons.

Aw, shucks.  What then?

And the final surprise: Barack Obama mentioned gays in the laundry list of people who should come together.

While conceding, as no lesbian is wont to do, that “this celebration isn’t about us – it’s about all Americans,” Vanascao goes on to say that she’s tired of lesbigaytrannies being lumped into laundry lists with those damn Native Americans and everyone else who makes this country so “diverse.”

Here here.  For those of you who are like, laid up with the flu or in the hospital and looking for reading material, you may want to consider reading Jennifer’s Big Gay Twitter Stream of the inauguration. Or you could, just, like, sleep.
