Steve Grand Faces Huge Media Backlash Even As New Naked Photos Of Him Leak Online!!

Just when it seemed things were going his way, now the mainstream media is lashing out at Steve Grand for not being the first openly gay male country music star, even though other people in the media already told us that he was!! In response to the backlash, leaked photos of Steve Grand’s insane bubble butt and pubic hair have surfaced online!!

No one can deny that Steve Grand was the first openly gay male to upload a music video to YouTube, but now some in the lamestream media are trying to paint Steve Grand as some kind of impostor! Hasn’t he been though enough, after spending $7,000 to produce a music video with a gay porn star and uploading it to YouTube?

Here’s J. Bryan Lowder writing for Slate.com:

Let’s start off with a clarification: Steve Grand may be openly gay, but he is not (yet) a country music star. The hunky YouTube sensation recently received that misnomer from BuzzFeed and has since been covered in similar terms, on the heels of his self-financed summer love lament “All-American Boy.”

Shame on J. Bryan Lowder! How dare he insult Steve Grand, who might have a big dick. Doesn’t J. Bryan Lowder realize that BuzzFeed’s decision to craft the “openly gay country music star is groundbreaking” narrative was completely well-intentioned, if one assumes that everyone involved in the production and enjoyment of country music is inherently homophobic, which in and of itself would be a horrible and bigoted implication on the part of BuzzFeed, not that they would ever do anything so dumb.

J. Byran Lowder isn’t finished with hero Steve Grand yet:

Though the song is itself pleasant enough as a wistful love letter, the video is woefully out-of-tune with the times. It’s like something out of a homo smut story from before Stonewall: Lonely gay man lusts after tradey straight dude (who—bonus—he knows to have a girlfriend BECAUSE THEY ALL HANG OUT), plies him with “whiskeeeey” and homosocial jocularity while occasionally shooting the camera “Can you believe this is happening?” looks, and then finally gets him drunk enough to tolerate a kiss in a steaming lake. Here’s our big moment of truth … that comes to nothing more than the guy sobering up and disabusing Grand with a “sorry bro, no homo, gotta dance with my girl” slap on the back. Now, God forbid that all music videos have “positive,” P.C. messages—that would be a boring world. But this particular narrative of the tantalizing straight guy and lovesick queen is so hackneyed in gay culture as to be laughable.

I’m not laughing. I’m fake-crying crying because the media has decided to turn on someone with such an amazing bubble butt! Who cares if the “lonely gay homo” story is antiquated? If you want to focus on something antiquated, you could focus on an antiquated term like “all-American boy” being repeatedly used to describe a young white male with blond hair and blue eyes when in fact white males are on track to become the minority in the United States within the next decade, rendering black and Latino males with dark features just as American (if not more so) as everyone else, but I am choosing to focus on the power of music and the power of Steve Grand’s amazing abs, thank you very much, and so should you, J. Bryan Lowder.

And it’s not just evil traitor J. Bryan Lowder (who himself is openly gay—what does the “J’ stand for? Judas?), it’s also Zach Schonfeld for the Atlantic:

But is rushing to call Grand the “first openly gay male country star” not a little, err, reductive, or even inaccurate? As is often the case with these sorts of bold media proclamations, the label brushes aside a bit of history in its eagerness. Most notably, it ignores Drake Jensen, a Canadian country singer who came out in February, 2012, and whose latest video, “Scars,” details the pain of being bullied as an LGBT teen. Of course, you could argue that Jensen isn’t exactly a star, and

Blah blah blah….save it, hater. Jealous queens trying to capitalize on Steve Grand’s fame are what’s reductive. First of all, Drake Jensen is fat. Second of all, look at these nude photos of Steve Grand that just leaked!!

Leave Steve Grand alone!

  1. Steve Grand is a great guy.awesome singer
Has a heart of gold..his music and talent is anove the best. I will forever be a fan.and love him.

  2. As a gay man slowly coming out and struggling to accept reactions, I am shocked that this music video could spark this negative tirade. I remember it getting high praise when it came out and how gracious people were when they learned Steve was gay. The fact that he based the video on a real life incident that he wished he had followed through on says something about him as a caring human being. And shock at nude photos! Who cares! Nothing that cannot be seen on tv every day. If I had that body, I would probably want pictures out there. He is a very healthy gay male who many gay men would love to be near. The gay community should be thanking him for creating a positive work. There is nothing negative about Steve. He speaks of being around friends so his being gay was not an issue with them. Many of us are just jealous of the bubble butt and muscular thighs.

  3. Was really any need to refer to Drake Jensen as “fat”. He is not fat, he is a sexy bear of man, and one would think that any gay site would never bash a fellow gay man on his looks. Don’t we all get bashed by others enough that we cannot support each other!

That being said, I would love to eat my lunch off Steve’s ass any day!

  4. All this debate is just making Grand a bigger star and his facebook page is blowing up. The media just can’t get enough of this kid good or bad. They should have got their facts straight before saying he was the first when KD Lang came out before he was born and Drake Jensen but, that is not Grands fault. Here are the facts:

    – Steve Grand is talented
    – Steve Grand is H-O-T
    – Steve Grand is young
    – Steve Grand is a country singer
    – Steve Grand is openly gay
    – Steve Grand should be on THE VOICE

That’s all that matters and everything else is just jealous bitter people who have to hate for no other reason than to hate. Hey haters thanks to you Madonna became a HUGE star and Steve Grand is destined for BIG things.

    1. Um, Steve Grand can’t sing as well as anybody on the voice.

He does have a great butt though. How tall is he?

  5. Ok, well, all right, hum hummm, yeah, Oui, d’accord, Da, Si senor…WE GOT THAT. Just say that YOU want him in your bed and drop it.

  6. Sex and controversy sells and when you have a body like his you should use it to get more attention for yourself and your projects.

  7. foreign shores

The Slate… mainstream press??? erm… don’t think so. He’s just some bitter bitchy blogger and who reads them, Zach? haha

The bigger the ‘storm,’ the more publicity Steve gets. the more publicity he gets, the better chance he has of making it. At least he hasn’t gone through the fake fame factory of American Idol or AGT.

    great good luck to him!

  8. He is FAKE FAKE FAKE. The song is awful and we music consumers can see thru the fake so easily, just like porn at the big name performers are so fake and boring to watch.

  9. “Homosocial jocularity”… Who the hell talks like that anyway? Except for maybe someone living in their mother’s basement furiously slamming away on their keyboard posting hilariously inane commentary for Slate. I always thought “mainstream media” were media that people heard of Zach? (Slate) I don’t think J. Bryan Lowder will make “homosocial jocularity” a catchphrase if that was his point, because for me that’s all I took from his ridiculous article. As for Atlantic well I can say I never heard of them either. Hopefully a major REAL mainstream media outlet like Rolling Stone picks up this story then we can truly say he made it onto “mainstream media”

    1. Well he was featured on Good Morning America, a morning talk show that runs on ABC with an average of over 5 million viewers a day. If that isn’t mainstream media, then clearly my degree in mass communications is a waste.

      1. Mass Communications? Arent most people embarrassed to admit the went to school and graduated with a degree in communications? At the very heart of it, it really just says “I had no idea what to do with my life all through college so I got the most general degree possible”. Not as useless as Philosophy at least, but I suppose when you spend most of your life commenting on porn blogs, what does it matter what kind of degree you have?

    2. Zach knows the difference between levels of media; its his job after all. He writes purposefully reaction-inciting pieces and thats his hallmark. Granted, he’s probably writing them while while intermittently jerking off to porn (..or during?) but hey lots of people exist in situations with very blurred boundaries these days and some are making the best of it! :)

  10. I think that twit J. Bryan Lowder is missing the point here when it comes to straight guys going gay. Usually alcohol IS involved so that straight guys can use that as an excuse for what they did the next day. I never heard of a gay guy getting a straight guy drunk so he can jump his bones, usually it is the straight guy that needs to get drunk before he messes around with a gay guy. Calling Steve Grand a sexual predator just screams “toxic little queen” as Alec Baldwin so eloquently put it.

    1. Yea that pisses me off that he would call him a sexual predator, because personally I don’t believe the “all-american” boy Taylor was meant to play a 100% straight guy. I mean how many 100% straight guys would let his girl ditch him because he’s spending too much time with a guy? How many 100% straight guys would go skinny dipping with another guy, drunk or sober?

I seriously think it’s a play on the lack of a gay life/community in such a rural area, and that many gay/bis are well known for playing straight in fear of anyone finding out about them. The level of comfort between these two makes Steve Grand think Taylor is maybe gay/bi, so he takes a risk and goes for the kiss. I don’t believe that makes him a sexual predator because sexual predators force themselves on another, and clearly Taylor wasn’t liking it so Steve backed off.

Honestly a real straight guy wouldn’t come back and hang out with him at a campfire, or even comfort him after that incident. He would be freaked out and left, wouldn’t want anything to do with Steve.

      1. I think the ending is what is so controversial about the video SXG. The majority of cases like the one in the video can and do in a lot of cases end in violence. It is rare that you have a buddy/guy that turns around and pats the guy on the back and says that is alright after a moment like that. That is the point, the image may give a young guy courage to do something that may end far worse for him than rejection. With this impressionable group of teens these days a video like this cannot be just a video. It can also be used as propaganda – “look at the gays trying to convert our boys again, do not get drunk around them.” We also cannot say what straight men will do with other guys other than do anything sexual or romantic with them because they say they are straight. I personally find it insulting that a guy would need to get drunk to have sex with me and it just plain makes us look desperate. The sexual predator thing is beyond, that is true, but the point is that we continue to talk up our attractions to straight guys in a time when even in rural areas in this country there is more than one out guy.

  11. I know Steve. He lives in Chicago and what these people critiquing him fail to realize is that until he uploaded this video he was a normal gay twenty something living in Chicago. The amount of shade being thrown on a kid who made his own video and has a good body is almost alarming…

    1. You sound pretty biased just because you fucked him doesnt mean we have to believe a scintilla of what you say.

    2. “Good body” is a drastic understatement. This man is fucking gorgeous. Give him a hug from me and tell him, “Way to go…and thanks!” :-)

  12. To me all the back and forth on this man reminds me of the arguments that me and my friends would get into over Tyler Perry and his so called movies. I would criticize his movies as playing up trashy black stereotypes and no sooner than I would finish my point I would be accused of hatin or being just another crab in the barrel. I love good films, I love good black films but Tyler Perry does not give you either. That’s the way I feel about Steve Grand and this song. I just hate that critics are being called haters because they do not believe it is all that. Mark King’s take on Steve Grand may be him reading too much into the song, but I get his basic point – it is about images. All the gay guys in small towns know that most straight men in those same small towns think that gay men are just trying to convert them, that has been a scare tactic used by homophobic bigots for years. This video kinda plays up that belief and the author has a point in calling it out. I just want to see a guy like this who has the guts to say I want and am looking for a gay man, because if the other guy is straight it is never going to happen and it just looks sad and desperate for the gay guy. There are plenty of proud, out gay guys that Im sure would love a shot at being Steve Grand’s “All American Boy” and he does not need whiskey to get them to skinny dip – lol.

    1. Gays are just like the Straights. There are all kinds of people with all kinds of experiences. no one man can represent the whole community, gay or straight. people are different! it suprise me when i read some judgemental comment against him by gays. I don’t understand, just because he wrote a song about crushing on a straight friend? Get over it, the song is based on his own experience.

  13. Nudes are nothing these days. Almost every guy who has modeled has done them at one point in their lives, or at least close to it. William Levy did some underwear modeling, and that underwear left little to the imagination. Mario Lopez has done nudes too, even revealing his ass on Nip/Tuck. Hell even Robbie Williams got nude for his music video Rock DJ and that didn’t hurt his career.

    1. “Mark S. King is an HIV poz gay blogger in recovery from meth addiction. What’s not to love?”

I find it a bit challenging to take the writer a bit serious after reading that lol.

  14. RootieTootieFreshNFruity

Maybe Corbin Fisher will take a chance on him?! They gave that loser Jake Lyons a contract once.

  15. If that really is him AND he’s really gay AND he really has that ass, then as far as I’m concerned, he can do no wrong in my book.

  16. “first openly gay male country music star,” “openly” being the operative word.

Ty Herndon, I’m looking at you!
