Study: Conservatives Like Porn More Than We Do

Eight of the top 10 porn-mongering states cast their electoral votes for John McCain in last year’s election. The study from the Journal of Economic Perspectives examined rates of subscriptions to online porn sites (e.g., our porny brother site, NakedSword) and finds that the densest concentrations of subscribers are in more conservative-dominated states.

Those states that do consume the most porn tend to be more conservative and religious than states with lower levels of consumption. “Some of the people who are most outraged turn out to be consumers of the very things they claimed to be outraged by.”

Below, the map used in the study, with the darker states showing the greatest concentrations of online porn subscribers (more than 4 subscribers per 1000 broadband households). As you can see, the perviest lot are in Utah and Alabama. Maybe Falcon should consider doing some special targeted-demo promotions to the ‘Guns N Pickups’ segment in Provo and Mobile? Just a tip…
