In the age of countless YouTubelebrities and big budget parodies, what makes one video stand out over another and, simply put, what makes a video “good,” or, at least, so bad that it happens to go viral? I don’t fucking know.
But these made me laugh! Some more than others, of course. Some were just brilliant, and some were cute. Here’s the top 10.
10. Kurt Wild: It Gets Better–These things were, for the most part, the worst, but I liked Kurt’s.
9. Brent Corrigan & Matthew Rush’s Safe Sex PSA–Horrible (yet intentional) bad acting and two gay porn legends made the best PSA of the year.
8. Black Swan/Showgirls Mash-Up–This has nothing to do with porn, but if you’ve seen Black Swan (or at least the trailer) and you’ve also seen Showgirls (which I trust you have), this is the most brilliant re-cut trailer I’ve ever seen.
7. Diesel Washington Loves The Haters–If you’re going to acknowledge people who really aren’t worthy of acknowledgement, this is the best way to do it. The best part starts around the 1:00 mark.
6. Reese Rideout & Dog Take A Bubble Bath–Sheer lunacy from gay porn’s hottest goofball.
5. Phillip Ashton Does Jason Pitt; Jason Pitt Does A Certain Cyberstalker–It’s a little long, but when it’s good, it’s good (even if you don’t know who’s being made fun of). Also, bonus points for make-up and hair.
4. Kennedy Carter & Chris Porter Dance–They make the world a better place.
3. Chip Tanner Attempts To Kill His Sister–Randy Blue’s craziest star doesn’t even appear on camera here, but just hearing him laugh as he debates the story of Isaac and Abraham with his sister–while threatening her with a knife–is enough to warm your heart.
2. Jiz: It Gets Worse–God Bless Jiz.
And, the #1 video of the year is actually FOUR videos.
1. Sebastian Young’s “What’s Up (Insert Blog Name)” Shout Outs–Awkward yet earnest, the ex-con returned to Cocky Boys and made personalized videos for every gay porn blog in the world. Maybe it’s just me, but I can’t stop watching these. In fact, sometimes I push play on all of them at the same time to truly experience the shout outs in full, unified glory.
