There’s A New Reality Show About Gay Porn Stars, But Is It Worth The Watch?

There’s a brand new reality show about gay porn stars! Presented by OUTtv, the same channel serving up that new Matthew Camp show, Boy Boy Montreal is all about the rise of the gay porn industry in Montreal and giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at the performers that shoot there.

Boy Boy Montreal comes from Into The Woods directors Iza Elle and Raph North and consistently references iconic porn studios like Falcon, Raging Stallion, CockyBoys, MENatPLAY, Next Door Studios, and Masqulin while starring some of your favorite porn personalities.

The new show’s season premiere features a mix of adult industry newcomers and seasoned gay porn performers. Stars like Skyy Knox, Teddy Torres, Edward Terrant, River Wilson, Trent King, Cory Kane, and Pierre Fitch can all be seen throughout the first episode. (And in case you’re wondering, while the show is very raunchy and features a lot of cropped porn shots and the occasional bare butt, there is no actual fucking shown. You’ll still have to stick to actual porn to see that type of action.)

Based on the first episode, the show seems like it will act as more of an informational and entertaining docuseries than a typical reality show. So if you’re expecting anyone to yell, throw wine, or flip a table, then you might want to skip this program for now. If you’re really just looking to see performers chat about their lives, give you a peek behind the curtain, and for industry insiders to talk about everything under the gay sex umbrella, then this show is for you.

While future episodes will tackle topics like gay for pay performers, VR porn, and OnlyFans, this first episode features various segments on how sex is treated differently in America, Canada, and Europe, how Montreal became the hot spot for gay porn, and what filming porn was like 20+ years ago vs. what it’s like now.

Longtime performer Pierre Fitch revealed during one segment that productions for Falcon Studios movies used to take a whopping three days to complete and had film sets with over 20 people on them. Among many other interesting tidbits, Pierre also mentioned that while there are “hundreds of thousands” of gay porn models now with the internet around, when they were making films that were distributed on VHS tapes, there were “under ten models in the industry.”

One of the actors that can be seen the most throughout the debut episode of Boy Boy Montreal is frequent Falcon Studios performer Skyy Knox. He stars in a humorous Q&A segment where he reveals that a fan once asked for a photo of him on the toilet and he’s also a centerpiece of the episode’s closing segment. That portion of the episode shows Skyy having an emotional conversation with the owner of a gay adult DVD store who reveals that with the digital age, it’s unlikely that his business will be around much longer.

Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by this show. As someone who inhales a massive amount of gay porn every single day, I did not think that I would be as invested as I was, but the 22-minute episode flew by in a flash. It’s a refreshing program that’s well cast and features a bunch of men that definitely deserve their time in the spotlight with this show.

Like I mentioned, this definitely isn’t a high adrenaline reality program, but if you’re interested in hearing professionals talk about the industry, how it’s evolving, and what it’s like in the modern porn world, then you should definitely check out at least one or two episodes. I honestly was only planning on watching this one episode for this post, but I’m 100% planning on returning to this show as more episodes come out on OUTtv.

    1. That’s Guillaume Patenaude, who now is a producer. But he did some acting in front of the camera some years ago under the name Marko Lebeau (he has been already a cute cub back then).

  1. Christopher Nichols

Overall I enjoyed the first episode, though it’s clear Skyy Knox is using this vehicle to promote… well, himself I guess. His comedy bit was a bit too much for me, and I never realized how much of a sissy he sounds like. Quite the surprise with his very muscular/masculin body but wow, he is quite the nelly!

Nice to see Montreal get its due when it comes to gay porn. Mindgeek is based there, as is Gamma (which owns Next Door and ChaosMen, among others). Helix Studios tried to make it a go in town, but due to bad locale management, Keith closed his Canadian doors very quickly. I think he could have made an impact here.

I am looking forward to seeing Jake Bass and hearing what he has to say about the business being all about money.

And can someone tell Pierre Fitch that he doesn’t need to talk ALL THE TIME. It’s not all about you Pierre!!
