This Gay Weekend Around The Nation: May 29 – 31

Scroll down for our slightly revamped weekend event guide, to the ever-familiar New York, San Francisco and LA.  

But first off, it’s Honolulu/Oahu Pride weekend with the big parade on Saturday, which kicks off from Ala Moana Park. (See our full pride/shame guide here.)

Today marks the start of FilmOut San Diego, the lesbigay film fest that goes on through Sunday. And Friday night the official afterparty for the Fischerspooner show in Minneapolis will be at The Saloon, and it’s Fresh Fruit Fridays at the Cockpit in Austin.

Across the pond it’s Cork Pride in Cork, Ireland, and it’s also EuroPride Sports Weekend in Zurich, Switzerland, with the big party full of gay athletes on Saturday night at Club Escherwyss followed by the swimming competition on Sunday.

Take Back the Polk Poop Protest & Charlie Horse @ The Cinch

Show up early for Charlie Horse this week and join in another Take Back the Polk March for visibility (11PM) with a new special addition: bags of shit. Anna Conda is encouraging everyone to bring a bag of feces — either one’s own or one’s dog’s — to hurl at the CA Supreme Court building down at Civic Center. The march will do a turnaround after the symbolic “Don’t Shit On Us” shit hurl, and wind back up at the Cinch for the drag show. This week’s theme: Trans Fat.
