It’s great to see two studios setting such a good example and showing how much they truly support the gay community! [TIM; Corbin Fisher]

As members of the gay community ourselves, we undoubtably support everyone’s right to unite with whoever they love.
For those who feel the need to use every venue they can find to put down the cult of men we stand behind, know you are only hampering any chance we have as a community to move forward and beyond the prejudices others cast onto us. How can we expect those close minded individuals who wish to keep us from having basic human rights to move past their prejudices, when all we do is bash members of our own community? As gay men when we discount one subculture, we discount everyones ability to grow.

Such bullshit. The cult of men TIM stands behind is a cult of disease. Consider yourself deservedly discounted and marginalized, you sick fucks.
WHy are people praising them? All this is jut PR!
Equality at CorbinFisher? The site with DADT policy for it’s gay models?
Having their actors be able to sign on to their spouses’ health plan would be good…
I can not find in me enough bitterness or sarcasm to reject their support. For all the companies that profit from the gay community, it’s nice to see that some will actually show their support in regard to an issue that is important to so many in the LGBT community. And enough with the “blah blah barebacking = evil.” I’ve watched plenty of films where I watch some of my favorite actors blow some dude’s head off and I have yet to purchase a firearm. Personal accountability needs to start counting for something. I’ll let ya know a little secret…well before these mainstream companies started doing bareback, or in some cases more bareback, I had already heard from more than a few young mouths about how they didn’t fear HIV as much because of how treatable it was and thus they were more willing to expose themselves to the risk. You want to make an impact? Banning bareback porn isn’t going to do it. But perhaps educating people that HIV is not diabetes might be a start.

Finally, someone who says something actually sensible regarding this matter. Thank you. Pornography, or any other form of information diffusion/entertainment, cannot be held accountable for people’s individual reactions to what they see, nor the psychological issues that motivate them to behave in such manner. Simply put, people who are ignorant about the fact that what they do can have very severe consequences, are more likely to engage in risky behaviours than those who can fully understand the magnitude of their action’s consequences. Also, there will always be those who glamourize certain behaviours and actively seek to be exposed to danger out of a desire to experience an intense thrill.
The media, and porn in particular, shouldn’t be expected to educate people, or imbue them with a minimum amount of common sense – they provide the sublimation of a fantasy, and that’s how they should be valued. As long as people are tested, things are done in a safe environment and no one is hurt, who cares? These people are doing a job, not changing the cultural and political landscape or altering the course of history. If they provide us viewers with what we want and do so within the frame of legality, should we really be worried?
Honestly, I think that some of you are too emotionally invested in porn.
Your argument – amd Marc’s – only makes sense if there is any kind of sex education for gay kids.I don’t know about you, but my parents and my schoold never told me a word about gay sex.
I learnt about how to actually have sex with another man through gay fuck mags (yeah, I’m that old) and watching films of gay men having sex with each other.
Gay porn shouldn’t be the education cradle for gay men, but it generally is – because there’s no other regularly accessible source of information for gay kids.
If you – or anyone else – can show me a regularly accessed internet site about gay sex that doesn’t regularly show depictions of gay sex, I’d be interested to see it.
The fact is, no such site exists.
Most gay virgins just want to see other men having sex – and taking notes about how to do it properly. If there is no concept of safer sex introduced into those lessons, then we’re condemning the guys who become HIV positive to a life centred around a serious, expensive drugs regime for the rest of their lives. And if they can’t afford those drugs, the lack of education ends in those men’s grossly unpleasant deaths.
If every gay man here who advocates unsafe sex actually indulged in unsafe sex, then there would be a general decline in gay men arguing the case for unsafe sex because most of the advocates would die at a faster rate than people saying safer sex is a good idea.
The fact is, the rate of HIV transmission is increasing among younger gay men (I’m old enough to have lived through the first ‘Gay Plague’).
While I’m delighted that HIV does not mean an automatic death sentence these days, I’m horrified that so many people don’t know how they contract AIDS and how so many other gay men are willing to advocate ignorant ‘free will’ over education from their elders.
If anyone here received an academic education about gay sex in school, please put your hand up.
The reality, though, is that most gay men learn about sex with other gay men through porn.
You either love your children or you don’t.
As gay men, we’re duty-bound to offer something better to gay kids than their parents offer.
Bareback sex represnts a significant threat to the quality of life that young, gay men should experience.
Whether people like it or not, gay porn is the most likely education gay youths and men experience.
If gay porn is wrong, then we should say so and be prepared to argue our cases.
Dazzer, your TELL IT! The elite and gifted commenters on this subject so often wish to defend porn from any responsibility on the subject of HIV/AIDS transmission. I get it. When I see an elderly man driving his car through a crowded farmer’s market, I don’t want to copy him and do it myself. The reality with SEX is that we all wanna do what we see- especially those who don’t enjoy the luxury -and it is a luxury, of a great, well balanced, realistic, exciting education on sex.
Humans ride the odd line of being wise enough to seek further wisdom on a subject yet equally subject to carnal passion that we ignore our wisdom. Therein is the challenge with showing unsafe sex over and over… especially to those who don’t know better.
As an added foot note to all of this I just had a conversation this morning with a young 20’s something just coming out gay man. He thought that if you pull out and don’t cum inside you couldn’t get HIV, that tops couldn’t get it at all. He also thought that it was just “one” pill a day to treat it. I was glad that I had the time to sit down and help educate him a bit, with some websites to check out.
When I was growing up, my mom smoked. Several members of my family did. I received a basic health education on the dangers of smoking. This was before it was made uncool to smoke in movies by the way. All the cool guys smoked. All the manly men would light up a cig and toss back a cold one; because, per movies, that’s what cool, manly men did. And when you’re a kid growing up in the South, that’s what you wanted to be. Somehow, despite all of that I managed to stay away from cigarettes until college. What happened? Peer pressure and the stress of a very demanding major…and my choice. My point is…if everyone did everything they saw in movies, this world would be an entirely different place wouldn’t it? As I mentioned, long before the current craze of barebacking re-entered the gay porn landscape, I knew many young men who were no longer afraid of HIV and to that effect were no longer afraid of “barebacking.” You believe this is a simple case of monkey see, monkey do. Based on your comment, it would seem to be your belief that if we somehow banned all barebacking porn; no gay kid would EVER even conceive of having bareback sex.
The smoking pamphlets and videos worked. Until they didn’t. Until I got out into the world, met people who smoked, enjoyed their company and found a way to alleviate a bit of stress. No movie. No cool poster or rap song about smoking. Nope…just me; with a little help from the factors mentioned before. I find it ridiculous for anyone to suggest that a gay kid will only bareback if they see it in porn. I’ve watched a lot of bareback porn in my youth (not very old, but I’m no kid) and I can tell you not one film drove me to barebacking. Despite your insistence that everyone has been ignorant to the dangers of HIV and that the only way to educate them is by putting condoms on porn stars, I was made well aware of sexually transmitted diseases from my high school health class in a town of far less than a thousand people. The problem with HIV education is that humans do what humans do; they justify ridiculous actions in order to pursue personal pleasure. They make up ridiculous “old wives” tales like pulling out, only being a top or looking for certain sores on your sexual partner to keep yourself free of HIV. And if that weren’t enough, as I mentioned, the fear isn’t there anymore. Am I glad HIV treatments have increased in their effectiveness? Of course. But I think a little hard hitting reality behind it will go along way; such as a few reminders that it is still possible to die young from the disease. Education is the key absolutely. But…I no more expect porn to provide me with a comprehensive education of safe sexual practices than I would a romantic comedy for dating advice; and I really don’t think it fair for anyone to expect either to provide such an education. If we’re going to talk about barebacking in porn, why not discuss the equally disturbing practice of sleeping with someone you literally just met, especially when it’s the new boss, the pizza delivery guy or a corrupt cop? My original point was this; I am glad CF and TI threw their support to the marriage equality cause; and it really “grinded my gears” to see yet more comments about how this meant nothing as they’re both terrible, evil companies because they shoot bareback scenes.
I reject the support of a porn studio that profits from bareback sex. They can go straight to hell for all I care.
Gay men bareback. Straight people bareback. Your parents were bare backers. Get over it.
…and so is spell-check.
Ha…Next Osama Bin Ladin teaching gun safety…Stupid
…Obama is dead.
Not as dumb as your unsupportive comment. You should have some shame (…and not of your sexuality!)
Lets see both studios promote either/or gay self loathing, unsafe sexual practices, and self destructive behavior. Wow what an endorsement!
Seems to me the only self loathing going on here isn’t from these porn companies.
