If you’re on Twitter and you’re somehow seeing content that isn’t related to the Try Guys drama (If you don’t know what that is, don’t ask. Just consider yourself lucky.), then you probably saw some people celebrating that Tumblr was bringing back porn to its platform! Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem that that’s actually true.
Talk of reinstating porn on the social media site began this week when Tumblr announced a “community labels” feature that allows users to easily filter sensitive content. When discussing these labels on their personal Tumblr page, a Tumblr staffer reblogged the announcement and basically implied that sensitive content filtering meant the return of sensitive content. Well, turns out this staffer, who is being described as an “overzealous team member, who did not work on the feature”, was dead wrong with that assessment.

“So to be clear, is erotic fanart now allowed back on Tumblr so long as you classify the post appropriately?” another user asked. The Tumblr staff member replied, “Yes.” But, as it turns out, the employee was mistaken.
So, basically, one person at Tumblr said “female presenting nipples” and the rest of the site erupted into a fit of horny triumph. In actuality, the community guidelines did not change at all.
“I probably should have shut up yesterday because people saw someone from Staff saying ‘tits’ and started to take it as a confirmation of all kinds of things, but I literally wasn’t in any position to confirm or deny anything,” the staff member later wrote on their blog.
So while it looks like you might be able to label your somewhat sensitive content like thirst traps on Tumblr with this new feature, it doesn’t look like this means you’ll be able to post any actually sensitive content anytime soon. Boo!

My hate will have been rewarded when I saw the real numbers with my own eyes, and then Tumblr still lost over seventeen million users because of their bullshit. (they haven’t stopped trying to hide their real numbers, but at some point they will have to stop, then the dark side of the internet shows all the dark realities of the public internet)
Tumblr is one of the sites with the most dark deeds in their past. – they hide a lot of unclear things, let alone in accordance with the law of extremely many countries. (especially almost all European countries – only Russia doesn’t care about that)
