We’ve been waiting a looong time for the Top Gun sequel to give us more homoerotic scenes and buff pilots to drool over, and Maverick does not disappoint. The beach volleyball and locker room lust has been replaced with a shirtless football scene, and all is right with the world. It’s the perfect time to count down our favorite studs from the 1986 original and the 2022 sequel. Who’s gun do you wanna get topped by? Vote in our poll!

15. Barry Tubb (Wolfman) & Jon Hamm (Cyclone)
The Wolfman & Hollywood broship from the 1986 film is arguably the gayest thing about it…and gives me a boner every single time. And I couldn’t resist adding Jon and his fuzzy forearms to the list (he looks real good in that uniform!).
14. Jack Schumacher (Omaha)
One of a few “blink and you might miss him” characters on this list, we hope Jack gets more screen time in the inevitable sequel.
13. Val Kilmer (Iceman)
Val’s appearance in Maverick is tough to watch, but we’ll always love his ball skills from the original—and his bromance with Rick Rossovich (don’t worry, he’s on this list too!).
12. Lewis Pullman (Bob)
Bill Pullman’s son looks hotter and hotter every damn time I see him, getting buffer and more handsome each second. (Note: He also appeared with Jon Hamm in the great flick Bad Times at the El Royale)
11. Adrian Pasdar (Chipper)
Barely in the original, Adrian went on to show us more of his hot bod in the likes of Profit and Heroes. I think he looks even better with age.
10. Greg Tarzan Davis (Coyote)
One of many studs on this list that doesn’t show us enough chest in the film (look at that super hero jawline!).
9. Raymond Lee (Yale)
Rising star Raymond also needs to show off more of that bod, like he did in Here and Now.
8. Tom Cruise (Maverick)
Is it blasphemy to have Tom this low on the list? Yeah, he’s a stud…I can’t deny it. But I have to enforce the mandatory Scientology deduction. Sorry not sorry.
7. Whip Hubley (Hollywood)
Hollywood was one of my favorite parts of the original Top Gun (him and Wolfman make a great couple!), and Whip went on to show us his hot bod later in his career.
6. Miles Teller (Rooster)
I used to not “get” why people thought Miles was attractive. Then he got buff. Now I understand. (Really diggin’ the stache!)
5. Danny Ramirez (Fanboy)
That face! That smile! That bod! Danny has charisma to spare, and also needs to show up in the sequel.
4. Jay Ellis (Payback)
Jay has alreay shown off his amazing bod in shows like Insecure, but he still looks good in uniform, too.
3. Jake Picking (Harvard)
For the love of God someone tell me why this man doesn’t have a bigger role in Maverick?! Good lord…
2. Rick Rossovich (Slider)
I cannot describe in words the tingling feeling Rick gave me in Top Gun, and then continued to give me as he got even hotter in his daddy phase in shows like Pacific Blue. This man is one of the reasons I knew I was gay.
1. Glen Powell (Hangman)
The face. The body. The charm. This man steals the show in Maverick, and if there is any justice he will get a lot more leading roles soon. Preferably with his shirt off. (Plus, remember when he got naked with John Stamos in Scream Queens? Good times!) He looks great furry chested and smooth, too. Marry me, Glen!
