Diego Sans Shares Message of Inclusion During Miss Pineapple Pageant

The 2020 Miss Pineapple Pageant is a lot more than just a drag show—it offers messages of hope from some of the industry’s top stars. And you can see it free for a limited time on NakedSword!

In conjunction with Pineapple Support (a free support and therapy service for all persons working in the online adult industry), the event was webcast last weekend on the Falcon|NakedSword Twitch channel (and you can still see it for free on NakedSword!). It featured drag performances by Beaux Banks, Jack Hunter, Avery Jones, Levi Karter, Steven Lee, Dakota Payne, Diego Sans and Calvin Banks. Hosts Sister Roma and Marc MacNamara were joined by three guest judges.

Men.com superstar Diego closed the show with a memorable performance (did he win? You’ll have to watch to find out!), but his interview with the hosts beforehand was just as memorable. After Roma praised the performer for embracing gender fluidity and embodying the “San Francisco spirit,” Sans talked about his home country, finding his own comfort with his sexuality—and how the industry has a place for everyone.

“I was actually talking to a friend of mine because this whole movement with Black Lives Matter, with everything that’s going on right now, it’s not only shaking the United States, but it’s shaking the whole world—and especially in Brazil, which I’m actually loving it. I’m not going to lie: Brazil is such a huge racist and homophobic country, and we don’t see that, because we only see the beauty of it—like Carnival,” he said.

“When I left Brazil at the age of 19 going on 20, I was still very closeted in a way, because I did not feel comfortable going out in public holding hands with a person I am seeing, or being open about my sexuality. I even remember the first time that I was walking down the Castro—and this was when the Diesel store was still there—and I was holding my boyfriend’s hand at the time, and I was like, ‘Oh my God, can we do this? Can we make out? Can we kiss?’

Diego Sans

“And it was just so liberating for me to finally feel in my own natural skin, the first time ever walking around San Francisco, and it just made me the true gay I am today. I think living in San Francisco, if that doesn’t make you queer, I don’t’ know what the fuck will.”

Sans went on to say that the adult industry has a place for everyone—and how that should empower us all to embrace our own beauty.

“I think that in the porn world especially, because we’re working with looks, in a way it doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s one specific look—there are many looks. But usually people think, ‘Oh, I’m not fit for porn because I’m not built, I don’t have the big legs, I don’t have the big ass, I don’t have the big cock. I’m fat, I’m skinny, I’m tall, I’m short.’

Diego Sans

“And the beautiful thing about this industry, it continues to show me that everyone is accepted—so it doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to be ‘pretty’…everyone has a look. And there’s a saying in Brazil that I actually love…which means every pen has its own top. So it might not be attractive to you, but it might be the perfect match for the other person.

“So I just want everyone to remember that: Don’t think so much on making yourself beautiful for the other person, but be sure to always please yourself and be happy with who you are. As long as you look in the mirror and you see yourself as pretty and beautiful, that’s all that matters.”

  1. Universal Potentate

I miss him when he completely shaved. I was so into him. Now he’s a fur ball and I … just … can’t.

      1. Universal Potentate

Ya know, I have yet to meet a hair lover online who can simply say “I respect you prefer shaven bodies.” It’s always a pedo jab. The attraction isn’t towards small underdeveloped bodies. It’s against body hair. Maybe you’re neanderthal who’s attracted to your 1000x great grand daddy? That’s why body hair turns you on; you want a brainless oaf! Or maybe, you just like body hair and I can respect that.
