La Bola Negra is (rightfully) the talk of the town. Ever since directors Javier Ambrossi and Javier Calvo (called Los Javis for short) won Best Director at Cannes earlier this year, the awards chatter hasn’t stopped. The international marketing campaign makes it impossible to look away.
Now, the war epic scored the People’s Choice Award at the Toronto International Film Festival.
The story follows three gay men — Carlos (Milo Quifes), Sebastián (Guitarricadelafuente), and Alberto (Carlos González) — across history in 1932, 1937, and 2017.
One Instagram post shared a billboard located in San Sebastián, Spain, and it’s truly a sight to behold. It’s a close-up of Miguel Bernardeau’s hot chest, a bandage on his shoulder, and a black arrow piercing his pec with pink blood dripping beneath it. Bernardeau plays an enemy soldier under Sebastián’s watch, who he just can’t take his eyes off of. Well, I feel the same way about this billboard.

La Bola Negra plays in theaters starting on October 16 before it streams on Netflix beginning on December 2.
