Who could blame them?
One lesbian murder that rocked the media world last month occurred when Carol Anne Burger, 57, a highly valued political respondent for The Huffington Post, stabbed her lover to death with a screwdriver. (Way to play into stereotypes there, Carol.) Carol and the victim, 56 year-old Jessica Kalish, were long-time lovers before Kalish ended the relationship and started macking on another woman. For financial reasons, the two women kept living together in the same home after the break-up.

For anyone who thinks it’s possible to co-habitate with an ex, we now have 222 pieces of evidence to the contrary. That was the number of stab wounds on Kalish’s body, all an inch to an inch-and-a-half deep, most of them around her back and neck. Burger rushed to cover her tracks, but removing all traces of that much blood is a pretty difficult task. The day before she was to be brought in for questioning, Burger killed herself.
Pretty ugly stuff, but at least Burger wasn’t a vampire. Jessica Stasinowsky, 23, and Valerie Parashumti, 21, are two Australian psychos who enjoyed drinking each other’s blood and got off on violence. When 16 year-old Stacey Mitchell moved with her family to Perth, Australia, from England, she ran away from home and moved in with Jessica and Valerie. After only 11 days, the girls started to get irritated with Stacey. Plus, Stacey began flirting with Valerie and Jessica got jealous. Valerie wanted to reassure her girlfriend that Stacey meant nothing to her, so the couple came up with a plan.

The two women drugged Stacey with a sleeping pill, bludgeoned her with a concrete block and choked her to death with a dog chain. A mobile video recording they made during the killing shows them making fun of Stacey’s British accent as she cried out in pain and kneeling over her dead body to share a passionate kiss. They giggled throughout the trial and later told a prison officer that they wished the 45-minute long murder had lasted longer. (Not that it’s okay to kill people, but Stacey does look pretty annoying.)
This all happened a couple years ago, but now these spunky gals are making headlines again for continuing their relationship behind bars. They have been free to kiss and hug each other and have had at least one sexual tryst in a common area. Last month, it was announced that the pair will be split up and sent to separate jails.
Last month, two other murderous lesbian lovers killed each other in a suicide pact. Tina Loesch, 36, and Skye Hanson, 44, had apparently helped a friend kill his mother. Then they lived for years as fugitives on the run until shooting each other in the heads. Their bodies and an 8-page suicide note were found in a pick-up truck in the Arizona desert.

The final lesbian murder on our list ocurred in a Florida high school hallway. 15 year-old Teah Wimberly had fallen in love with her long-time friend, fellow sophomore Amanda Collette. But Amanda rejected Teah’s repeated advances. So one day last month Teah pulled out a gun and shot Amanda fatally in the back. Teah, who will be tried as an adult, told investigators, “I wanted her to feel pain like me.”

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: if you’re near a lesbian, and especially if you’re near two or more lesbians, avoid direct eye contact, move slowly and apologize often.
