OnlyFans Has ‘Suspended’ Plans To Ban All Sexually Explicit Content

Well, that didn’t take long. A week after blowing up its own platform by banning all sexually explicit content, OnlyFans has officially decided to take a couple of steps back and suspend any plans to block porn on the porn-centric platform.

“Thank you to everyone for making your voices heard,” reads a tweet from the official OnlyFans Twitter account. “We have secured assurances necessary to support our diverse creator community and have suspended the planned October 1 policy change. OnlyFans stands for inclusion and we will continue to provide a home for all creators.”

As we originally reported earlier this week, OnlyFans originally said that they were going to be banning all adult content starting on October 1, 2021. In an email sent to content creators on Friday, OnlyFans said that its “new policy will prohibit the posting of any new content containing sexually explicit conduct.” This includes anything that can be labeled as “actual or simulated sexual intercourse, including genital-genital, oral-genital, anal-genital, or oral-anal, between persons of any sex.”

Unsurprisingly, the sudden move to ax all sex workers from the site led to an intense backlash from content creators and fans. After days of criticism from the online sex worker community, the company tweeted that the “OnlyFans community would not be what it is today without” sex workers and the “policy change was necessary to secure banking and payment services.”

“The change in policy, we had no choice — the short answer is banks,” OnlyFans founder Tim Stokely said in an interview with the Financial Times published yesterday. “This decision was made to safeguard [creators’] funds and subscriptions from increasingly unfair actions by banks and media companies — we obviously do not want to lose our most loyal creators.”

OnlyFans

In an email sent to all creators earlier this morning, OnlyFans kept it vague but repeated its Twitter statement that its Acceptable Use Policy will not be changing and porn will still be allowed on the site. While not getting into specifics, the email (seen above thanks to porn hunk Drew Dixon) said that “the proposed October 1, 2021 changes are no longer required due to banking partners’ assurances that OnlyFans can support all genres of creators.”

We will update this article if OnlyFans ever decides to further elaborate on its relationship with its “banking partners” or if any other specific information on the banking situation comes out.

While the move to continue to allow porn on its platform has been received well, many content creators and porn personalities are letting it be known that this situation has left a bad taste in their mouths.

After the news broke this morning, model PJ Knox questioned the wording of OnlyFans’ statement by tweeting “Suspended? Not canceled?” and frequent Falcon Studios director Steve Cruz tweeted that he is going to stop using the platform since he didn’t “like the way [OnlyFans] treated adult creators and it’s just a matter of time.”

OnlyFans JustForFans

Less than three hours after OnlyFans issued a statement about reversing the upcoming porn ban, direct competitor JustFor.Fans released its own (and very shady!) take on the situation via Twitter. The content site said OnlyFans’ actions have “shown it doesn’t care about the adult industry” and emphasized the point that OnlyFans’ plans are only “suspended” and not fully “canceled.”

“So if they reverse course now, who is to say they won’t reverse course in another 3 months?” reads the JustFor.Fans statement. “Adult content creators deserve a platform they can really on and one which does not cause them constant anxiety.”

JustFor.Fans previously emphasized that while OnlyFans seems to be focused on “mainstreaming” its platform, JustFor.Fans is “a porn site” with a staff that “is 100% comprised of sex workers.”

ONLY BANS is giving us whiplash!
Trying to keep up with the gaslighting and change, sorry the “suspension”, of company policy towards sex workers!

    1. A complete publicity stunt. The porn people should just abandon this forum and return to their original form of making money, “street walking”. Same exact thing.

  2. I am a Falcon model and an onlyfans model, will not reveal my name since the comment section tends to be nasty. As a sex worker, today’s news did not relieve ANY stress or anxiety on mine and other models’s end.

Why are people celebrating? They never said they would cancel the new rules….

Echoing what another commenter said, suspension is only temporary.

My fellow sex workers, PLEASE continue considering other options for your content. There is A LOT of work to still do. OnlyFans is fucking trash for not canceling the new rules. Suspension means nothing to us since it just means you guys delayed it. Fuck OnlyFans.

While I do wish it were a publicity stunt, that’s just wishful thinking on our part, the truth is, if it WERE a publicity stunt, they would have flat out said they canceled the new rules coming into effect.

It makes me worried to see people celebrating as if they officially banned the new rules, can we at least wait until they announce they’ll be CANCELING the new rules? I don’t want us to get our hopes up just to have them shattered all over again. This is a lesson that nothing is ever certain.

I’m also going to be brutally honest, a lot of us sex workers have a terrible spending habit, even those who claim to “know how to save”. INVEST, SAVE UP, have a BACKUP plan so stressful shit like this doesn’t hurt your pockets.

    1. Sorry, but if sex workers have a bad habit of spending money, then maybe it is time to find a real job. You are only good for a few years until we tire of you and look at the next new meat. I work hard, make good money, own my own home, cars and beach house along with having insurance. Only fans gives you a forum they do not owe you a living. Sorry, but not very sympathetic for you.

        1. Zip it cunt, my opinion not yours. If you don’t like it scroll past, nobody put you in charge of the opinion board.

          1. If you have such disdain for sex workers then what are you doing here?
Getting your rocks off and then turning around to insult the people you came here to see and hear about?
People who make porn work hard too, and they deserve respect from those who take enjoyment from their work. Many often put their well-being at risk for your pleasure (and I’m not even talking about STDs). Sites like OnlyFans made their lives safer, especially during the pandemic. It also gave them an income during the time that they couldn’t work in the way that they had before, and they often can’t file for unemployment insurance the way those of us with more traditional jobs can. Our Anonymous SW commenter’s advice on saving money could apply to anyone in any line of work. We should all be careful about our finances in volatile times like these.
Congratulations on your multiple homes, cars and, uh, insurance, but you have picked the wrong place to insult people who make porn for you.

  3. Doesn’t matter if they rescinded the ban. The damage was done, and people made their feelings known and switched to other sites. They can take their religious values and shove it up their religious right wing asses!

  4. 100% publicity stunt. It got people talking and gave them a lot of publicity. Not buying any of the ban bullshit from the very beginning. Your stupid stunt is over, now the prostitutes can go back to over charging people with their garbage.

  5. It amazes me how many stupid people there are in this world. Suspending does not mean banning. They’re just going to delay the new regulations. For all we know, the new rules will be implemented at a later date. I really hope they make the ultimate decision to just BAN the new regulations. This is unfair for sex workers and using grey area terms like “suspension” just creates more unnecessary anxiety to sex workers in this uncertain situation.

Oh did someone’s feel’s get but hurt and impersonating me makes them feel better?

        That is just fucking sad.

I always liked JustForFans better. I have an account with both sites.
I hope most of my models move to JFF now that their commission is 20% like OnlyFans.
