If you’re an Olympic athlete looking to get it on in Tokyo this year, you might want to adjust your sexpections! For the upcoming Olympic games, the famed Olympic Village, known for being a hot spot for athletes from all over the world to hook up with each other, will be using a new eco-friendly bed frame that is basically impossible to have sex on.
According to AP, this year will be the first year that all beds in the Olympic Village will be made of renewable materials. The 18,000 beds will be made up of “sturdy cardboard” that “will be recycled into paper products after the games.”
The announcement of these new beds actually happened a long time ago, but with the games fast approaching, the news of the beds has resurged online and led many to question the athlete’s ability to have sex on them with some even labeling these cardboard creations as “anti-sex” beds.
General manager for Olympic Village Takashi Kitajima said that while they are stronger than wooden beds, these new cardboard frames would “break if you jumped on them.” Takashi did not comment on how much thrusting one would have to do to break the frames.
If that wasn’t bad enough, this year’s games are apparently a BYOC (Bring Your Own Condom) situation. USA Today reports that while there were 450,000 condoms given out at the 2016 Rio Olympics, only 150,000 condoms will be handed out to athletes and not until after they’re done competing as a sort of parting gift.
Takashi said that the condoms are not meant to be used in Tokyo and are instead meant to be shared in the athlete’s home countries to spread HIV and STI awareness.

We have forgot the athletes are there for a reason, and that is to compete. Which also means a lot of preparation and endless hours of practice and media meetings, or spending time with the coach or at therapy. In a nut shell, time is very limited to have sex. I am not saying it doesn’t happen, but chances are they will be exhausted after all that and the last thing on their mind is sex. I’d say it’s even traumatizing to constantly have that inner voice talking to you before the game. I certainly wouldn’t be in the mood, I might jerk off but hooking up? Probably not.
