Why Derek Kage Said ‘No’ To Working With Kristen Bjorn

Studios and talent don’t always get along. Gay porn star Derek Kage revealed his negative experience with European porn studio Kristen Bjorn, and why he refused to work with them.

The studio’s most popular performers include some serious eye candy. From Adam Tyrant to Magnus Loki and Gus Torres (pictured above) – they’re all gorgeous men.

At one point, Derek almost joined the Kristen Bjorn roster. However, he revealed during one of his regular fan Instagram Q&As that a video call killed our chances of seeing him work with the studio.

A fan asked: “Have you ever said no to a studio? Not just a scene or a co-star, but to the whole studio?”

Derek openly named Kristen Bjorn.

“When I spoke with them and when I applied to work with them, I’d already established myself as a solid performer,” he explained. “When I had a video call with, I guess, the owner, he wanted me to completely strip and show everything. I mean everything. I said, ‘No, not going to do that,’ and he goes, ‘We’ve never had anybody say no before.’ I said, ‘Well, now you have.’ Bye.”

  1. This is the same guy that defends problomatic studio kinkmen with the director that’s been known to be abusive to his crew and even slapped a PA once. So Derek is just talking out of his ass, they proboly didnt pay him enough

  2. I actually really respect DK. First, he got a vasectomy so he wouldn’t accidently impregnate his female partner during his “straight sex” scenes. He identifies as homosexual. Why do you “hate” DK for filming “straight porn” when a TON of “straight” men film “gay porn”. I agree with the posts that sex workers are working and it’s for SEX. DK has every.right. to work for whomever he chooses to work for. If KB is not a studio he would ever work for is his right and that is what all sex workers should do, is work for whomever they choose. Additionally, DK is a wonderful performer, he is a receiver and a giver.

  3. You lost me when he said he films with women. Sorry gay porn should be for gay men. If you do women then at least keep it in the closet and offline.

  4. WTF is wrong with all you “anonymous” people dragging DK for standing up for himself?
Sex Work is still WORK, and DK gets to decide which work environment he feels comfortable in – NOT YOU.

The bunch of you marginalizing DK for being a sex worker who sets boundaries are probably trolls who can’t get f*cked anyway.
So, how about all you trolls STFU and let DK run his career the way he chooses – he’s doing great and doesn’t need your shady, bitter, uninformed input.

BTW – if you pathetic trolls attack me for this comment, know I will clap back – HARD.

  5. I think most of the men that KB uses for the last 15 years are very unattractive (borderline ugly faces, too muscular for my taste) and the videography is too murky. Initially KB had gorgeous men in beautiful settings but no longer.

  6. Ehhh kinda weird he’d say no i mean i get it, you never do anything youre not comfortable with, however i’m not sure what job in the world would not ask to see “what they are working with”.

On the other hand this is sort of similar to asking for a snapchat or a verification pic for a hook up, perhaps the owner just wanted a current look, to be sure he really looks like his pics

either way i’m not sure this was an inappropriate or unreasonable request

    1. It’s really easy to take screen grabs or record video during a video call. By getting naked in front of that camera he loses control, and they can use the images in whatever way they want. Theoretically getting naked on request like that gives consent. So yeah, I get it, and I agree with him. Plus there’s enough of his content out there that they should be able to know what they’re getting without having to do that. It’s a power/control thing on KB’s part, and it’s a bit demeaning to the performer.

Props to DK for speaking truth to power.

    2. It’s telling them, you may control other models, but I decide what and when I do it.
Nothing at all wrong with that.
Plenty of other work for him elsewhere!

    3. You’re missing the point.

If Derek Kage weren’t as established a performer as he is, then you might have one.

Seeing that he is and that whomever could easily see examples of his work shows how bullshite that request was.

      Kage did the right thing.

  7. I love Derek but what the actual fuck? You get naked and fuck/get fucked for a living. Do not cry modesty.

  8. You do that as your job you idiot. If you can’t take direction and do that when it’s your job and you do it for FREE outside of interviews for porn, then honey they passed on you first. You’re just desperate to change the narrative.

  9. Hmmm… isn’t showing your current state of fitness etc. part of the job requirement? Each studio has different body types that they feature. However, every person has a right to make the choice of what they will do to get a job. Just not sure this field to get upset if a hiring manager asks to see your body.

    1. It is rude to ask someone you first meet to be naked for you. His naked films are all over the internet. It the interviewer has not seen he should not be in the business.

  10. I also find it weird that Derek was asked to do that. It’s not like his body, work etc isn’t on display anywhere else for the owner to check out!
