Every year, it’s all about us gays and the slutty Halloween costumes. But what about erotic horror movies to get us a little bit more intimate with the Halloween mood? Seven days until Halloween night, seven movies. The horror genre has more than enough straight sex and tits, so we’re focusing on man-on-man action, sexual tension, and nudity. Some are scrappy, gory indie flicks and others are eerie dramas that will get your heart racing for more than one reason.
‘Spiral’
Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman in a folk horror film? Sign me up. He plays one half of a gay couple with a nagging feeling that something is wrong with their neighbors after witnessing a weird party in the area they just moved to. Is he paranoid, or does this community have it out for the couple? You won’t find much nudity in Spiral, but it’s a thriller that descends into madness.
Spiral is streaming on Shudder, AMC+, and Philo, or for free on Hoopla. You can also rent or buy it on Apple TV or Amazon Prime Video.
‘Knife+Heart’
It isn’t every day that we get a gay slasher, much less one as so stylistic. Knife+Heart is set in Paris, 1979, where a gay porn producer goes on a mission to make her most ambitious film yet after her editor leaves her. When one of her stars is murdered, it turns the production upside down. Who will be next?
Knife+Heart is streaming on Shudder, Kanopy, AMC+, and Screambox. You can also rent or buy it on Apple TV or Amazon Prime Video.
‘LA Zombie’
Bruce LaBruce’s L.A. Zombie is about as scrappy and indie as they come, but it’s also filled to the brim with blood and male sexuality. François Sagat plays an extraterrestrial zombie, who very well may be a schizophrenic vagrant, and is convinced that he can fuck the dead back to life. You’ll see other familiar faces, including Matthew Rush, Wolf Hudson, Adam Killian, Erik Rhodes, and more. If you want the extra explicit, pornographic version, then check out the director’s cut.
L.A. Zombie is streaming free with ads on Tubi and The Roku Channel. You can find the director’s cut on the DVD.
‘Hellbent’
Speaking of rare gay slashers, there is always “Hellbent.” This cheesy 2004 flick isn’t a traditionally good movie, but it has a cult following, and it’s full of hot men. Best of all, the story is set on Halloween! The plot follows a group of gay men in West Hollywood who become the targets of a masked serial killer during their night of drinking, dancing, and flirting.
Hellbent is streaming on Here TV and through the Here TV Prime Video add-on.
‘The Judgment’
Junes Zahdi and Freddy Shahin make one stunningly hot gay couple who travels home from the US to Egypt after a family emergency. When one of them becomes the target of potentially lethal witchcraft for his sexuality, they’re forced to face his lifelong traumas head-on. The Judgment is more about drama than horror, but I could watch these two hottoes in bed all day long.
The Judgment is streaming on Here TV and through the Here TV Prime Video add-on. You can also rent or buy it on Apple TV or Amazon Prime Video.
‘Stranger by the Lake’
Yes, Stranger by the Lake is more of a thriller than an outright horror film, but it’s dark and uncanny enough to fit the bill for Spooky Season. And it has tons of gay nudity, including cum shots. Set in the summertime, Franck (Pierre Deladonchamps) falls in love with the mysterious and dangerous Michel (Christophe Paou) at a cruising ground. Franck doesn’t tell anybody about a murder he witnesses in hopes of having a relationship with the killer. It’s a stunning thriller, but it’s also hot as fuck.
Stranger by the Lake is streaming on Kanopy and Metrograph. You can also rent or buy it on Apple TV or Amazon Prime Video.
‘A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge’
Do horror movies get any gayer than A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge? If you haven’t seen it in a long time and don’t remember it, watch it again. Jesse (Mark Patton) and his family move into the family house of the sole survivor from the first film, only to suffer from terrifying nightmares of his own. Freddy Krueger plans to use Jesse as a host to enter the real world. Also watch the documentary Scream, Queen! My Nightmare on Elm Street, which reveals the behind-the-scenes secrets of this very gay horror flick.
A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge is streaming on HBO Max and Philo. You can also rent or buy it on Apple TV or Amazon Prime Video.
