The 2007 murder of Cobra Video owner Bryan Kocis will surely go down as one of the most notorious, if not the most notorious, crimes in all of gay porn. And now, eight years on, it’s finally getting turned into a film called King Cobra. Starring in the film will be Christian Slater as Kocis, Molly Ringwald as his sister, apparently, and James Franco (possibly as convicted killer Joe Kerekes).
As QueerClick reports, via Event Films, the movie is based on the 2012 book Cobra Killer: Gay Porn, Murder, and the Manhunt to Bring the Killers to Justice by Andrew E. Stoner and Peter A. Conway, and we don’t know a lot about the production just yet except that shooting appears to have just begun.

In case you don’t recall, or haven’t read this site ever, the salacious story involved Kocis, a smalltime porn producer who discovered the young Brent Corrigan — and whose first couple videos turned out to be totally illegal because Brent lied about his age (he was 17). Corrigan turned 18 while worked for Kocis, and he was deemed a big star in the making by rival producers Joe Kerekes and Harlow Cuadra, the latter of whom was also a porn model and sometimes escort. Kerekes and Cuadra ended up killing Kocis over this rivalry, in trying to poach Corrigan, and Corrigan later cooperated with the FBI and wore a wire to incriminate Kerekes and Cuadra, who both went to jail in 2008/9.
Franco’s role in the film, while shown on Event Films’ site, is not confirmed, and it doesn’t yet show up on his IMDB page, despite a number of other projects in pre-production.
And, Queerclick says, Disney actor and young Zac Efron doppelganger Garrett Clayton (Teen Beach Movie) will be playing the part of Brent/Sean Lockhart.
Not a bad resemblance!
Sexy Keegan Allen of the Pretty Little Liars TV series is also in the cast, and I’m guessing he’s playing Cuadra. But, again, not confirmed.

Why isn’t the talent that is Brent Corrigan playing himself? And who’s going to play his fugly ‘boyfriend’ who was also in “Every Poolboy’s Dream”?
Straight people doing a gay movie usually has more promise than an actual gay cast. Just look at Stonewall’s epic fail.
Any word on whether this will be a theater release or not? It sounds kind of straight-to-DVD.
