Britney Spears announced last week that she was going to show her Instagram followers one yoga pose every day while everyone is in quarantine. So giving! So nice! She wants to make sure her followers are staying fit while they’re staying indoors. A queen! We love to see it!
Flash forward a couple of days and now we have Olympian Tom Daley releasing his own ‘workout from home while you’re in quarantine’ content. Now I’m not saying that this lil twink is copying and ripping off our queen of home fitness Britney Spears, but I’m also not not saying that. I mean, Britney invents the concept of working out from home and then a couple of days later Tom has the same idea? You put two and two together.
The only thing Tom did to improve on Britney’s genius idea was making sure he did his entire workout routine shirtless. His abs and pecks are on full display for the entirety of the video. We’re used to seeing this man in a tiny swimsuit, so this is actually more clothes than we’re accustomed to, but he’s still a treat nonetheless.
“Lots of people are self-isolating at home or social distancing and sometimes you can run out of things to do and you can feel a little bit down on yourself,” said the athlete-turned-YouTuber during his video’s intro. “I’m hoping to do a series of home workouts that I’ve been doing to try and help boost a little bit of moral and a little bit of spirit.”
Tom’s video will be the first in a series of 10-minute workouts that you can do from your living room. You can follow along with the muscle twink at home and get a quick workout in or you can just stare at him and his happy trail while you sit in sweatpants and watch this from your couch. Either works.
Now if we ignore his perfect body, his cute face, his easy-to-do workout that anyone can do from home, and his blatant disrespect for Miss Britney Spears, we’re all still left wondering… why the fuck does he own so many pieces furniture with a British flag pattern? I understand that there are many American citizens with American flag-themed hats, shirts, and bags, but please show me one (non-insane) American that has a star-spangled banner themed couch and matching statement chair.
Are British flag couches a common thing over there? Is it common with all Brits? Is it only common with gay Brits? Is that the standard couch you buy in any store? Do their Ikeas just have their walls lined with British flag pattered couches? Is it offensive if you live in Britain and don’t have a couch with the flag on it? Do you get fined by the government? I need answers!
