In fact the incidence of hemorrhoid and anal fissure complications seems to be less than in the straight population. So my exposure to this and to patients into this is not trivial. When we don’t agree with something, we tend to notice opinions, news and articles that agree with our views and opinions and overlook those that present a different point of view. In this era of social media, we follow those who agree with us, even if data looked at with a neutral view is overlooked.
